Renee Hicks

November 14th, 1956 - November 4th, 2021

Biography

No words could ever express or embody the light of this phenomenal woman.  Whenever she entered a room, Renee would immediately brighten it up and make friends with everyone there.  She was the friend who always called, dropped by or sent you something at the exact moment that you needed a kind word.  While she may have moved around, she never left a friend behind.

A nurturer, a confidant, a jokester, a cheerleader, a card shark and a faithful Atlanta Falcons fan -- she was an absolute enjoyer of life.  She taught us that every second is a chance to create a memory, that each day was an opportunity to make a better and different choice, and that if we weren't laughing along the way -- we weren't doing it right!

We love this woman! She has made each and every single one of us a better person.  Join us in sharing her light and celebrating her spirit, by leaving your stories and uploading your pictures/videos.

And come back here whenever you need to be reminded that for as much as you loved her, so she did love you.

Never forgotten, and always in our heart.  We love you, Renee!

Renee was a true go getter and a great person. She was so encouraging. While working at Sysco, she always had a kind word. I am just discovering that she is no longer with us in human form. I just want her family to know that she left a lasting impression on me at Sysco. She led by example. Job well done Renee

Although I did not have the honor to meet Renee, I work with her daughter, Joy. They look so much alike! After reading the many well wishes, it is obvious that Renee was a beautiful woman and will be greatly missed. Her pictures are stunning. May Joy and the rest of your family be comforted and strengthened during what I'm sure will be a difficult holiday season without her. Cherish your many memories, share the funny stories, watch some football, play cards, and may your every smile be a reminder of hers. Praying for you all!

My friend and Spades partner was always a joy to be around. She lit up a room with her sweet voice and mannerisms. We met through mutual friends and turned out it we almost neighbors since we lived so close together. We'll miss the fun times hanging out with our mutual friends but she will never be forgotten. My prayer to the family is to remember and cherish your memories and hopefully you will always be smiling just as she did. God bless you all and keep you in Jesus name. Amen.

What a wonderful bright light Renee was. Worked with Renee numerous years at Sysco. Every morning I would go to her office so we could catch up. That girl could pull a joke on you in a minute. Never did I see her without a smile. I am so going to miss talking with her and laughing with her. She was a inspiration to so many people. I bet there wasn't anyone in the office or warehouse that didn't know her. I love and will miss her dearly.

Renee was one of a kind. We worked together at Sysco for many years. She was always soft spoken poised, professional and kind. Even though we lost touch when I left in 2005 we reconnected last year and stayed in touch. We reminisced laughed about all the crazy and fun times events at Sysco Atlanta in the early years. We worked hard and played hard. Even today suppliers I continue to work with remember Renee as a special lady.

Renee Hicks was a very special friend to me and many people. I loved her honestly, friendship and great talks. She did everything with grace and style. She would always say she worked hard and played harder. At the end of the Falcons football season I would call her to see how she was doing because she hated to see the football season end. I will always remember how she patiently taught me how to keep score in football because I wanted to show my husband I understood the game. I am going to miss her so very much. Rest in heavenly peace Renee!

To me and my experience. Renee is one of the most beautiful,,sophisticated, classy, determined beautiful black woman that I have ever met . To celebrate her life to me is a blessing and and honor . She give me the wow factor that this type of Lady existed. She never complained. She was a fighter and always spoke positive about her life . She inspired me even during her battle with cancer to keep doing my music . She said , “I am going to fight this “. We laughed on the phone all the time , including then . I always asked her if there was something more I could do for her . I fellt I could do more . She said “ just hearing your encouraging words is enough for me “. I took that and bottle it up inside and licked my wounds like the lion that I am. She taught me . Live your life to thr fullest and never apologize to anyone for who you are . You never know what is going to come in your path , but if you put your heart and soul into everything you do, including fighting cancer and other life threatening challenges. Just keep going . The shine comes in the end . It is an honor and a blessing to have know you . You are the opitonmy of greatness . Tell God I said I what’s up . A job well

We lost a great woman and friend. I meet Renee 10 years ago when I was her factory rep for 4 factories. She always gave as much time as I needed and was always pleasant and professional, even training ME how to be a rep as I was a newbie. I got to know her better when we spent the 2014 snow storm together stranded in a Kroger parking lot for 18 hours. We finally made it to my condo in Sandy Springs where my wife Sally befriended her, she stayed 2 days with us and we became very dear friends with her. She will be missed and remembered as a dear sweet friend

Renee and I met in the Real Estate Industry and became friends. She had a great personality that drew me to want to partner with her to help people with home ownership for over 10 years. She was also an avid Bid Whist and Spade Player and I enjoyed playing cards with her when I could. I will miss that smile and winning personality. God bless you Renee.
