Dearest Robin,
We were neighbors in Costa Rica, probably I was 8 or 9 Many times my parents and I talked about your family with fond memories.
You and I had a matching outfit and there is a photo somewhere…
Facebook came along and I searched for your parents because I knew you might not have the same last name. I found your Mom and Dad, May their memory be a blessing. We corresponded a few times in 2010-2011 and they told me they were coming to Palm Springs and we made a date. I drove from LA to see them, catch up with stories and bring old memories back. Your parents were so happy to see me as I was to see them. They told me stories about my parents that I never knew and we had fun.
Before sunset we said goodbye.
I will always remember them, they have a very special place in my heart.
My condolences to the family and friends.

Such a great memorial service yesterday! One of the funniest memories I have of Meme was our race home from Olive Garden one night. We had all just finished eating and, since my mom and dad had drove separately, we decided to have a little competition on who could make it home first. Meme decided to ride with my dad (not knowing how slow of a driver he is) and I rode back with my mom. We took off and quickly left my dad and Meme in the dust once we got on the highway. Eventually my mom started to slow down (probably just to make the race more competitive) and we could start to see them gaining on us in the rear view mirror. Soon they came up on us in the left lane to pass us and all I saw when they drove by was Meme, in the passenger seat, big old grin on her face as she flipped us the bird. Mom and I were so surprised we just started busting out laughing. Still laughing about it to this day

Linda and I were honored to view the touching memorial to Aunt Betty Jo. She and Uncle Bob were always so much fun to be around and always showed us the hospitality of two great individuals. When I joined the Air Force, I began my service at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. While there, Linda flew down to San Antonio to visit me. Aunt Betty Jo and Uncle Bob picked her up at airport and brought her to their house. We sure appreciated that, since we were recent "newlyweds" and missed each other so much. Luckily I got a days pass from my unit commander and Uncle Bob picked me up. We had a great day with them and the food was a whole lot better than the Air Force chow. That was just the way they were. We were fortunate to travel to visit them several more times in different locations. Made many memories more with each visit. We were even proud to host them at our house for one of their visits to Ohio. We loved them so much and will miss them both terribly. We thank you all, Robin, Cindy and Kenny for sharing your precious parents with us, too, as you were growing up. May God Bless you and comfort all of you in the days ahead. We hope to be able to see you sometime in the near future. Our Love Always, John & Linda McLeish and Family
