For two weeks, my mind has been messing with me. I kept reading the email that Roberto sent again and again. Susan? My friend Susan that we had texted each other in June? Less than two months ago? If I don't type this tribute, death did not take Susan away from us, I was convinced. I was supposed to have lunch with Susan and Roberto at their home right after COVID is under control.. I kept telling myself WHAT IF and SHOULD OF......

Jay Schmuecker published a comment Sandi, I’m overjoyed to find see that you are still around. About 20 years ago I last saw you at Exit 102. I first met Susan after she started work as a secretary in MIcky Alper’s section. Later she was the Division 35 Office Secretary prior to transferring to the Documentation Section. She did an excellent job in providing documentation support to me. She also sewed up my suit coat during the Campus review of the project. I loved and admired her.

Roberto Quintana published a comment No. That's the pony ride, in addition to the clown w balloons, and the antique firetruck-ride Susan recruited for the McDonald Park opening celebration back in the 80's. -RQdF

Peggy, hi from Linda Larsen Goodwin! I have looked for you on FB over the years wondering what paths your life has taken. I reconnected with Susan several years ago and was so impressed with articles she posted. I had no idea she was ill so was totally shocked to see the post under the PHS website.

Mary Cannon published a comment Terry and I met Susan years ago when she was married to John Kempton, but our main joint interest was the artwork of Sara Kathryn Arledge. Susan was one of the lucky few to actually own an Arledge painting. I enjoyed working with her in the garden a few years ago, where we would spend hours pulling weeds and talking about plants. Roberto, I know you are crushed, and I wish I could be there for you, but Terry passed just the day before Susan. I hope they are having some great conversations in outer space, or wherever they are, right now.
