I met Darin in 1988/1989 school year when I transferred to St. John of God School for 7th Grade. Nice guy from day one, we became better friends as we entered 8th grade. I was the captain for both the Basketball Team and the Flag Football team, he was our center for both teams. I can say without his presence it would have been difficult to have success in both sports. Photos of those two teams have already been shared so I didn't include them in the photos I shared. I ended up following Darin and the rest of the guys that went to St. John Bosco High School. So I shared some photos from our year books in high school. His picture for each grade, his freshman photo reminds me of how he looked in junior high. He was always an artist so no surprise he was part of the Art Club and he loved his metal bands so no surprise he was a part of the high school band. We had a lot of fun those 6 years we were in school together. After high school we saw each other at a few events but lost touch until 2010 when we connected through Facebook and hung out in a Whittier Bar with other St. John of God classmates. Thank you my friend for all the laughs and memories, until we see each other again. RIP

I worked with Darin at Trigger Happy after he moved back to California from Texas. Integrity and service are two words that come to mind when I think of my old friend. I remember him always being helpful. I didn’t have an email account or social media so he created them for me. He’d help me out with creating business cards and or any kind of technical business that I couldn’t understand. One time we hosted a Halloween party at my house, he went all out by creating this haunted maze in my back yard. That’s just who he was, a fun loving kid at heart, an Eagle Scout through and through. He was always willing to lend a hand. Last time I saw him, he came to Austin TX for a visit. We bought a shit load of fireworks and drove to the lake late at night. We had a great time, drinking beer and blowing things up. After he left I found a painting on my bookshelf. He left me one of his paintings as a gift and I’m honored to have it. Darin will be greatly missed.

I was fortunate enough to have the honor of going from customer to friend with Darin throughout the past 20 years. He was a great person, one of those people you click with and operate on the same wavelength with; the ideas, our shared humor, similar scout history, and music experiences, it was all just so easy and free flowing. When I was forced to change careers due to an injury, our talks and tattoo sessions really made that change easier than it ever should've been, and I'm beyond appreciative of those times. I had full trust in him and his craft, and I gave him free rein to do whatever he wanted on my leg, which became a freehand drawing that I didn't hesitate on letting him do. He gave me the inspiration piece for the tattoo as well. A lot of insight came from Darin, a lot of different ways to see things were introduced by Darin, and a lot of music was shared by throughout the years talking and working with Darin. My next project was going to be another freehand by him that we were both excited about as it brought our shared paths with scouts into it. Even though it will remain an idea, I'm really glad that the artwork on my body and the wall of my home will be around forever, and am truly grateful for knowing Darin. I'm a better person for happening upon this awesome person with a similar background in a tattoo shop one day 20 years ago. Thank you, Darin.

My husband Keith & I met Darin thru tattooing while he worked at THT. One night after getting tattooed we left the shop and headed out to go grab a new geocache in town and Darin showed up. Turns out he was a geocacher as well and from then on that was the start of our friendship. We spent many late nights together geocaching and made a lot of memories. He was our chosen tattoo artist and even after moving away we continued to go to him for more ink. It is sad to think there will never be another appointment with him. I would always ask if it was going to hurt and he would roll his eyes and laugh. We are thankful to have become friends and cherish the artwork he left us with. RIP Darin, you will be missed but not forgotten.
