Military Interment Service for Gary Lynn Flippo

Our father was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Air Force. We have chosen to bury him in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas at Ft Sam Houston to honor his service to his country. Military Obituary: Gary Flippo passed away on October 2, 2021, after complications from knee replacement surgery. He was born December 14, 1950, in Comanche, Texas to Robert Dowell Flippo and Billie Jo (Kirkland). He is preceded in death by his wife Donna (Henninger), Father, Mother, and his brothers Bobby Ray and Ronnie Dowell. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Adams. After graduating from Alamo Heights High School, Gary joined the United States Air Force in 1971 during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in many locations including England, South Vietnam, Thailand, and New Mexico. He began his service under the Third Air Force command in England as a weapons mechanic and ended his service as Sergeant Flippo, a member of the 27th MM Squadron Tactical Air Command in Southeast Asia and New Mexico. He is survived by his children Jackson, Rachael, Robert, and his beloved granddaughter Avery Lynn. He is also survived by son-in-law Janson, daughters-in-law Allison and Jessica, sister-in-law Flo, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Gathering is scheduled for Friday November 5, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at New Berlin Community Center located at 8815 FM 775 in New Berlin, Texas.
