Williams was a big fan of our band the tah tahs and always came to our shows. He was hilarious, inappropriately at times, and despite his tough guy exterior you could always sense his warmth and desire to connect. He left a gap in the world that only he could fill. RIP William.

I never met your dad, Nicole, but I am a parent, and you’re all I could have ever dreamed of from a child. I’m sure he’s smiling down on you. He left this world on my dad’s birthday. Hopefully they’re toasting their daughters together. Hugs. Big ones. I am here. Xoxo

I remember spending time with your family at the thousand trails (I believe that was the name) camping & RV park for a couple of summers. Your dad would take us to get thrifty’s ice cream in his limo and we would blast Ray Charles the way there and back. Your mother and father were always so kind to me and always welcomed me with open arms. I even spent a couple of weeks one summer in SF with Will you and your parents. They were both awesome! ❤️
And Tales
I met William a few months after Nicole and Chris were engaged. He and I stepped aside from the family gathering and sat together at a table in the sun on our patio. I will always treasure that first conversation. He set in place immediately the enduring feeling I hold of William's soul... his bright and vital life energy brimming with a mischievous pleasure and joy he was apt to share. I loved listening to memories of his childhood and youth growing up on Kodiak Island in Alaska. The sheer delight, the glint in his eyes, the spark in his laugh as he shared memories and tales from those years when he was a "Black Eskimo"! I did not realize how little time we would have to mine those stories and seized only a few moments of opportunity. But William and I share one soul together through our grand-daughter, Meili. I will keep one photo image of William in the place of my heart with Meili. I will remind her of that song in her own soul that has roots in the love of her grandfather. Xoxo Love you, Nicole, Meili, Chris. T. deBree

I did not meet him personally, but I have only heard amazing things about him, may he rest in peace and may we honor the legacy that he left behind

While I didn't get to know William very well, I do know, quite well the beautiful legacy he left on Earth: an incredible, sweet, kind daughter and an adorable granddaughter. Rest easy, William.
