April 23rd, 1956 - August 23rd, 2020
There are no words to describe our loss. He will be in our hearts for eternity.
It is with much sadness that the family of Will D. Rhame announce his passing on August 23, 2020; earlier than any of us expected.
He left behind his three daughters, Shyla, Arlee and Mauree, his sister Sam Rhame and the mother of his children and long-time friend Debbie Rhame with many other family and friends.
For those that knew Will, you know he was an Entrepreneur with many dreams.
Will started his career as a Licensed Principal Broker with Shearson Lehman Brothers in La Jolla, California. While there he founded the CPA Club, a national networking program. He invented the first stand alone Bumper Sticker machine, that excited him every time he spoke about it. He authored the book, "Business Golf" and then completed a series called “The Voyagers”. He enjoyed writing the Voyagers as his first personal writing accomplishment for children. Will was also the creator and founder of “POWER with WORDS.” He had a passion to express himself through his writings.
Will, spent much of his life teaching tennis in-between his projects. He became the Director of Tennis at several private country clubs including Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club and Saddlebrook Tennis Resort. He became known as "Coach Will". He was a 4.5 rated tennis player, a 12 handicap in golf and is an avid surfer, as he loved the ocean.
He earned a B.B.A. in Business Administration and a Minor in Administrative Management from University of North Texas. He was also a licensed USPTA instructor.
His last couple of years was spent teaching tennis, writing and being with his daughters in Florida and traveling to California to be with his sister Sam. He is now spending time with his loved parents David and Jean Rhame. He will be forever missed.

How did you meet Will?
I met Will over ten years ago when he contacted me to do some work on the web site for his Voyagers series. I found him to be a very intelligent and friendly individual. I did some work on the site and we talked about doing some more work, but life got busy and we fell out of touch. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

It's sad when you go online to find an old friend from long ago and see that they're no longer with us. Will and I were buddies back in our teens living in a small town in South Jersey. I'll never forget how nice he and his family were to me (that includes you, too, Sam) even though they lived in a nice house down by the lake and we very obviously didn't. Everyone knew he was in training to become a tennis pro, but it wasn't all hard work and no play. I can't reveal all our hijinks - boys will be boys. One thing us kids did was invent a new game for small-boat sailors called "Pirating". We thought it would catch on all over the world but all it did was get us in trouble with the local sailing club. Will and I only played tennis once, which led to the only selfish thing he ever said to me. After about half an hour, he told me in the nicest way possible, we couldn't play any more. My tennis was so far behind his, that playing with me would actually make him a worse player. But I still gave him a slight challenge playing ping pong down in my basement. At least that's what I like to think. The last time I saw him was during a visit down to Florida. He was working as a tennis pro and maybe going to school. I can't recall exactly. Shortly thereafter I moved to Oregon and we lost touch. Goodbye old friend. Rest In Peace.

Oh my…I just recently heard of Will’s passing and I’m so so sorry for your loss. Although we lost touch after college at NTSU I will forever remember Will as a super kind, super fun, and incredibly intelligent and creative guy with a huge heart. We became good friends very quickly as he invited me into his life and family and my thoughts and prayers go out to his immediate family and sister Sam.

Will was a true friend and will never be forgotten. He was always positive and never showed any signs of discouragement. Through his coaching, I lost weight, learned to play tennis and learned alot about life through our long hours of discussions and conversations. He always had hope and always looked at the positive in all interactions.I will always be grateful to him and am honored to call him my friend forever!
