Wayne J Edelman

Wayne J Edelman, age 69, left us on December 23, 2025, in South Fork, Colorado, after bravely facing stage IV lung cancer. Wayne’s spirit was always drawn to the wild beauty of nature—whether he was hiking the Continental Divide Trail or scaling the heights of the Grand Tetons. His love for adventure shaped his life and inspired everyone who knew him.

Born on February 28, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas Glen Edelman and Ollie Pearl Simmons Edelman, Wayne was a devoted son, a caring brother, and a loving father to Paul Joseph Edelman. Nearly twenty years ago, Wayne chose early retirement from Southwestern Bell Telephone and moved to Colorado, where he found joy in hiking and skiing—embracing the freedom and peace he cherished.

Those who knew Wayne know he hated being fussed over and would rather give than receive. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Wayne's character, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to the Sea Shepherd Organization on or before the 70th anniversary of his birth, February 28, 2026.
