Dear Elaine and family - my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. You two were very nice neighbors and landlords. I will always appreciate how kind you were two me and consider you both good friends. I was just thinking about Walter the other day -- I saw a little camper like his and was going to ask if you two were still traveling. I wish there were more people like him in every community. His wit and ability to handle all personalities helped me figure out the various New Mexico characters. Take care. Peace.

I have been immensely blessed to have had Walter in my life! I lived across the street from his daughter, Anne for 20 years in Vail. Anne is not my blood relative, but, we are as close as sister's can be! I have many special memories of Walter, discussing topics anywhere from Faith to our little neighorhood in Vail, Matterhorn Circle, that Walter developed with his father. There was a very low time in my life when I knew I had to sell my home in Matterhorn. Walter, Anne & Bob came over to the house one evening and brought old photos of Matterhorn when it was first being developed. It was a very special night for me and one that will forever be etched in my heart! I fondly remember his sincere concern, care and kindness for what I was going through. Of all the people that surrounded me during that time, his visit provided me an enormous source of strength and support. But, my absolute favorite Walter memory, was at his Grandson, Jere's wedding. It was an absolutely gorgeous Christmas time wedding. However, no alcohol was being served. Knowing this in advance, I had a small bottle of scotch in my vehicle for post wedding celebration. Knowing that Walter and I both loved Scotch, I smuggled a small amount into 2 cups and brought it back to the reception. Walter and I shared a toast to his grandson's wedding. It was a small, special moment that I will always keep in my heart. God Blessings to your Walter. You are now with our Lord. My love to you!
