Siempre En Nuestro Corazon
"Guela" passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2021 knowing she was deeply loved and with Titi by her side till the very end. She was a generours, loving soul who loved everyone and everything. For this reason she was LOVED by EVERYONE! Not one soul called her by her name, she was "Guela" to everyone.
She had a great love for all animals. if she saw an injured animal she was quick to nourish it back to health. She enjoyed gardening, she could spend her days outside planting flowers and vegetables. Her favorite pastime though was playing dominos. Guela would team up with Titi the mojority of the time and many times they dominated!
In her early years, Guela helped raise her 10 siblings. And despite only attendeding school to 3rd grade, she was very bright. She was a well respected and loved caregiver at a nursing home in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Widowed at a young age, Guela remained loyal to her one and only husband, Jose De La Cruz (aka Pepito). That's not to say she wasn't sought after, many tried but not one succeeded.
Guela lived majority of her life with Titi & Rafi and the extended family. She blessed us all with her amazing home cooking like her sought after pasteles, pernil, and arroz con gandules. Her authentic food was to die for. Guela, and likewise, was blessed not only to have been able to meet her great grandkids but also got to meet many of her great, great grandkids and the opportunity to hold Greyson & Ella.
It goes without saying that Guela loved to be surrounded by family and she will be greatly missed.
Guela
y admiro tus sacrificios,
nada podiamos hacer
sin contar antes contigo!
Te levantabas muy temprano
casi al llegar el dia,
y reflejabas en tu rostro
el poder de la alegria.
Siempre fuiste buena esposa,
buena madre y buena amiga.
Para ti, el tiempo no pasaba
tenias todo en armonia.
Ni oro, plata o diamente
podria ser tu salario;
el amor del semejante
es lo que esperabas a cambio.
Gracias te doy mi vieja
por todo tu buen trabajo,
nunca nos diste una queja
aunque estubieras hecha pedazos.
Dedicado a mi querida madre con mucho amor!

Rest in Peace my lovely mother in law. She was a beautiful , humble and lovely woman. Always ready to help those in need. Since I became her son's fiance, (Kike) she always loved me so much. I will always have you in my heart, Doña Virginia. Receive a great great hug from your grand children , Kikito, Sheryla, Joel and Letty, and from your seven great grand children, (at least three of them got to know you), and from your son Kike and your daugther in law, Sandra. May you rest in peace, Doña Virginia!!!
