Loved Ones

He was born on 15th August, 1950 in the Catholic Christian Family of Hakim Deen. Hakim Deen was Hindu Khashatri who converted to Catholicism.  Hakim Deen had three sons and Victor was born to his second son William Hakim Deen. William joined the Pakistan army in artillery. The Hakim Deen family originally belonged to Patesar in District Sialkot but when William retired as Naib Soobedar, he decided to go to Laiyah. Being an only child Nawab bibi inherited a 12 acre land in Laiyah. Therefore, William moved to Laiyah with his wife and children to look after the property business. .

William Hakim Deen was blessed with seven children , four sons and three daughters. Their names are Sardar, Wilson, Victoria, Walter, Veeda, Waheed, Violet later known as Shazia.  He was the sixth child of the family and very much loved by all. According to his sisters, he was ambitious, very respectful and full of life.

According to his youngest sister, he was very caring brother but sometimes used to get angry while playing with her. She spent more time with him when they both were studying in schools. They  stayed in the hostel in 135 Chak near Stonza abad, Sahiwal at the same time, her in the girls hostel whereas Victor in the boys hostel.

He completed his primary education from a primary school in Chak 75/B of Tehsil Laiyah. And did his secondary education from a Mission school in Stonza abad near Sahiwal and stayed in the hostel. His favourite subject was always Maths. He was very good in Maths. He was the youngest boy of his family and very much loved by his sisters. His eldest sister, Victoria, who was serving in the Pakistan Army as a Nurse, decided to take him with her to Lahore where he got admission in Forman Chrisitian College. He had always remembered Officer mess. He was very proud of being "Formanite". His sister sponsored him throughout his studies until he finished his Graduation with political science and economics. He always liked to play hockey and Chess.  He was a local team champion in FC college. He was fond of motor bikes also and used to ride  Honda 125CC in those days. Racing was one of his sport, though he understood it over the time how dangerous it is. But when youth was on its height he liked racing whether motor bike or car.

He was married to Veeda Waheed, the second daughter of Inayat Gill on 22nd March, 1976. This was a completely arranged marriage. The fathers of both worked together during one posting and when met through my Uncle's elder brother decided to get the children married to each other. After their marriage, they went to Libya and stayed there for 9 years. While they were in Libya, God blessed them with three daughters. In 1986, they returned to Pakistan and decided to settle in Christian Town. As the couple was still praying for a son to carry the family name, in 1987, God blessed them with a son. His spiritual life changed when he was blessed with a son. He got baptised by Sister Alice who was an evangelist. He always welcomed the pastors and evangelists. Though he got registered with the Hunter Memorial Church since he came back from Libya but after his baptism he actually practised pentecostal faith.

He was very popular among people of different ages for his styles and his mannerisms. Many people used to call him Waheed Murad. Few of my elder cousins always preferred to call him bhaijaan. He was always a friendly person. I always see him as a man with values. He had very few friends of his own and they all were true friends who miss him now. But to the rest of us, he was our best friend and it's so hard to find anyone who can take his place. He was a great advisor who always liked to know about new technologies. He was full of new and bright ideas.

He loved all his kids. He was very serious about their studies. He had very high expectations from his children and that's why always had high expectations from that.

He was truly a family oriented person who loved his wife, always supported throughout her career and during her evangelism missions and continued her vision even after her death.

We love you Dad.
