**Obituary for Valcina "Val" Timothy**
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valcina "Val" Timothy, who left this world peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 93 in Riverside, California. Born on June 30, 1932, in St. Vincent in the West Indies, Val dedicated her life to nurturing her family and community, becoming a beloved figure to many.
Val would often be lovingly referred to as mom, grandma, momma Val, mummy, aunty Val, grandma Val, or granny. Her home was a sanctuary, filled with laughter, warmth, and the delightful aroma of her Trinidadian cooking. She had a remarkable talent for bringing people together, and anyone who entered her kitchen became part of her extended family.
A proud graduate of Riverside Community College School of Nursing, Val dedicated over 20 years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Community Care and Rehabilitation Center. Her nurturing and kind nature made her an irreplaceable asset to her colleagues and the many patients she cared for with compassion and devotion.
Val’s passion for cooking was matched only by her love for gardening. She relished the joy of planting and nurturing beautiful blooms, much like she did with her family, fostering love and growth within every relationship she cherished.
Val is survived by her devoted children: Marcia Wilson-Joseph, Gail Nedd, Jasen Wilson, Stephen Wilson, and Lou-Anne Eveland. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness and love.
She was the cherished grandmother of Neil Nedd, Nikki Nedd, Brandon Joseph, Kaelyn Sabal-Wilson, Keira Eveland, and Charles Eveland, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A celebration of Valcina's life will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sandals Church at Palm Avenue. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share in the stories of her life, a testament to a woman whose spirit touched the hearts of many.
Valcina "Val" Timothy leaves behind not just a family but a legacy of kindness, love, and connection that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Val was my other Mother. She was our neighbor in Trinidad and my Mother’s friend. I have a second set of siblings because of her. She made me rice and ketchup when I was a child in Trinidad. She took my callaloo out of the pot before she put the crab in it in California. She always called to check on my husband Robert and I when I moved to Florida. I have so many great memories with her that I will cherish forever. Rest In Peace Mom. You will never be forgotten❤️❤️

Farewell Val, will cherish fond memories of you as our next door neighbor. Remember you sewing for me and me cutting your hair. We were like family and your children still share a great friendship with us.

How did you meet Valcina?
She is family on my husband's side. She was a dear soul. She taught me how to make bake in a cast iron pan on the top of the stove. Her baked chicken was the bomb. This woman could cook like there was no tomorrow. My grandchildren loved going by Auntie Val's to stay for a week. Because Auntie Val's house was fun. She is going to be sorely missed. Love you Auntie Val.
