Very pleased to have connected with Val again after many years. Both Val and Rob were very kind to host me at their home in Brisbane many years ago now - special memories. Tony and I were also very blessed that Val and Rob travelled from Brisbane to Sydney for our wedding almost ten years ago now. Val and Rob took several photos on our special day and shared them with us. I thought I'd re-share a few. Rob, our thoughts and prayers for your comfort are with you and your family as we celebrate Val's life.

The Moffat family look forward to remembering Val with other friends tomorrow. Val and Rob were great friends and neighbours for 5 years, and continued to be friends after we moved a couple of suburbs away. They suffered through us getting a dog, and then having 3 screaming babies over the years with big smiles and were always so friendly and welcoming. Val used to cook and bake delicious treats for our afternoon tea catch ups and was always passing on great tips for all sorts of everyday ailments. Val knitted me cosy sock-shoes for winter, and made me really useful cloth bags which are still in use today. She always had such lovely treats for the kids. At one time we worked in a similar part of the city and would catch the bus home together. We would have such a good chat and laugh all the way home. Despite Val's ailing health over the years, she remained positive and upbeat, strong, determined and always, always maintained a great sense of humour. My parents who used to fly out from the UK to visit us developed a great friendship with Rob and Val which continues today. Val and Rob used to take Margaret and Pete out on adventures around Brisbane. The photos below are of a trip to Mount Coot-tha. They remember Val very well and miss the WhatsApp chats and jokes that she was so good at passing on. Margaret and Pete will be with us in spirit at the gathering tomorrow and send their love. Val will always be remembered with much love by the Moffat family and Margaret and Pete. 💗

Shared many chats, meals and cups of tea with Val over a number of years in Brisbane. We always enjoyed her and Rob's company. She often had a joke to share either in person or by SMS, favourite recipes or remedies would be widely shared and analysed. Rest in Peace dear Val. There are not many of whom you can say 'our lives are better for having known you'. Love to Rob, and all the family from Clyde, Alfreda and Family!
