Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

On December 20, 2024, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Ursula Grimaldi (née Kannen), passed away peacefully in Santa Barbara,California.

Ursula, known affectionately to her closest friends and family as “Uschi”, was born in Sangerhausen, Germany, in 1944. Her life took a transformative turn in Frankfurt, where she met John Grimaldi, a U.S. Army serviceman who would become the love of her life.

Their romance led Ursula to emigrate to New York, where they married on January 15, 1965. The couple's journey together included homes in York, PA, and El Paso,TX, before settling in New York City and raised their wonderful daughters, Claudia and Nicole. Together, they celebrated life, traveling the world and collecting friends from Broadway to Morocco.

In 2019, they embarked on a new chapter, moving to Santa Barbara. There, surrounded by sunshine and gentle ocean breezes, Ursula found comfort and peace, supported by the devoted care of her husband of nearly 60 years.

Her passing during the Christmas season brings special meaning to her memory, as she took particular joy in celebrating the holidays. Each December, she created cherished memories by gathering loved ones close sharing the warmth and traditions that made her home a beacon of holiday spirit.
