Travis Thornton

1974 - 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Travis Eugene Thornton. On June 24th, 2024, Travis passed away peacefully with his two Aussie pups by his side in his home in Merritt Island, Florida.
In March of 1974, Travis was born to Rebecca Tuttle and Mark Thornton in Fresno California. Travis spent his childhood with his first best friends, his three younger sisters: Tera, Jesa and Amanda. He discovered a love for the outdoors, skateboarding, and music from an early age. He often fondly reminisced on time spent with his grandparents, especially with his grandfather at his bakery in Bass Lake, California. Travis also loved to reminisce about his days skateboarding, he was proud of the work he put into building “The Ark”, the largest vert ramp on the West Coast at the time. Many hours with friends were spent both building and skating this ramp.
He attended Clovis High School where he met many lifelong friends. He soon after became a loving, proud father to Noah and Mara. He was immensely proud of and supportive of his kids. He resided in Clovis for a majority of his life: raising his kids, exploring the mountains, going to concerts, skating when he could, tending to his plants and dogs, using his hands to build and craft, mentoring and helping anyone in need. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he treasured every precious moment spent with his loved ones. In his last year of life, he moved to Florida to be close to his daughter and granddaughter, he was looking forward to meeting his grandson. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Travis' legacy of love, strength and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Travis is preceded in death by his four loving grandparents and brother-in-law Jeremy Herman. He is survived by his parents Rebecca Tuttle (Lon Wetter) and Mark Thornton (Jane Thornton); sisters Tera Fry (Will Sykes), Jesa Herman (Blaine Hansen), Amanda Dennis (Craig Dennis); children Noah Thornton (Destiny Thornton), Mara White (Levi White); two grandchildren; nephews Joel Fry, Jase Dennis; niece Faith Fry. Along with the countless friends and extended family who loved him dearly.
A graveside service for Travis will be held on September 20th at Academy Cemetery (11844 Mendocino Ave, Clovis, CA 93619) at 12:00 pm. Those who wish to remember Travis amongst family and friends are invited to attend.

I’m so glad we decided to do our honeymoon out in Florida because we were able to get some more time with you, without even knowing it. This was back in December 2023 when you showed us your place for the first time and we searched the perimeter for snakes and lizards. It was always and adventure with you pops. Till our next adventure in the next life 🤍
