Tony Velasquez Jr.
November 14th - July 26th, 2020
November 14th - July 26th, 2020
Tony was a dedicated and loving father of three, husband, son, brother and friend. Tony was happily married to his best friend, Christy, and had three beautiful children, twins Ella & Sarah (9) and little Joseph who will turn 5 years old in October. He worked as an Executive Assistant Pastry Chef for Harrah's and was always known for his amazing cake creations, especially for their kids' birthday parties!
Earlier this year, Tony was diagnosed with cancer and had recently started undergoing chemotherapy. While the treatment took a toll, doctors were all very optimistic that Tony would beat this disease. Unfortunately, Tony went to the hospital with symptoms that seemed unrelated to the chemotherapy. Tony was admitted to the ICU where he and Christy went through weeks of worsening symptoms and misinformation. On the morning of Sunday, July 26, 2020, Tony unexpectedly passed away. He will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends and colleagues.

Missing you brother!!!
Katarina Velasquez

Oh how we all miss you Uncle Tony. Today would have been your birthday and it's honestly hard to believe you're gone. I haven't wrote anything before now because I just couldn't find the words. You taught me so much about life, cooking, baking, family and so much more that I will gladly pass down to Sarah, Ella, and Joseph! Uncle Tony you did a lot of the baking but I hope you have the best cake ever in heaven. Happy Birthday Uncle Tony. You are truly loved and missed so so much!

I was very fortunate to have known Tony. It’s hard to fathom that he is no longer with us. He was very personable, always willing to lend a helping hand, and an amazingly talented man. I saw him explore many of his talents during his busy career and was always impressed by how well he adapted and exceled in all projects he tackled. I’m always reminded of him when I look at the amazing art objects he had given me over the years. It was remarkable how he managed to do this while always putting his family and friends first, especially as a loving husband and father to his kids. Tony will be sorely missed but he’ll always be remembered for the kind and caring person that he was.

Thinking of you and Christy today, your wedding Anniversary…miss and love you!

It is hard to believe that it has been 2 months since I had to say goodbye to my best friend, the love of my life. I think about you every day and although I cannot see you, I know that you're always near. Tomorrow we would be celebrating 13 years of marriage. The kids and I will have Italian food for dinner as that was our tradition for our anniversary. I am blessed to have spent the past 21 years with you and grateful to see your memory live on through our children. I want to thank all of you who have contributed to Tony's life and to the memories we share. You have been so supportive and I thank you for uplifting us and helping to continue this legacy Tony has left behind. I truly appreciate all you have done for us.
