Tom, what a gentle man you were. Always thoughtful and quick with that great laugh of yours! When Tom needed help on his computer, I was his go-to gal. He was hesitant- never wanting to impose. Tom loved his family. When his mom needed a change of living situation he said, "come live with me, mom". Tom, I will miss your laugh and miss seeing you smile.

I have such great memories of my uncle Tom. He was with me when I took my first trip to Vegas to see family, made my first plane ride not so scary. Coming to visit during holidays and spoiling me rotten. Always getting a nice text/call on the holidays/birthdays he couldn't be here for, I'm going to miss those most. My uncle Tom LOVED sports/horse racing and him and my dad would talk for hours about any sport/race usually on speaker phone, as soon as I would say "hi uncle Tom!!" we'd completely change the subject and start talking about everything under the sun. Last Christmas he was on the phone with my dad talking about sports and I was decorating Christmas cookies in the kitchen, did my usual "Hi uncle Tom!! Wish you were here", I had one cookie left to decorate and decorated it for him and texted him a picture, he loved it. I'm going to miss him so much, he was always so fun and happy. The world needs more like him. I love you uncle Tom, RIP.

A quick story about my big brother Tom. When my three children were little, I got laid off from work and we were in a money crunch, we could not pay our car insurance and had no money for groceries so I called my big brother Tom, and I asked him if he could help us out. He immediately dropped everything and drove an hour to where we were currently living and paid the car insurance, went and got two full carts of groceries and gave me $300 in cash, no questions asked and said "please dont worry about paying me back" and I will never forget that. Thats the kind of person my big brother, Tom Martin, was. I feel very bad about Toms fear of water, it stems back to Squaw Lake, him and I were walking across the ice and we both fell through. He saved my life by pushing me out but while trying to get himself out, the ice kept breaking and when he finally got out of the water, we went home and my mom put us in front of the fire place with blankets to warm up. I always of course appreciated what he did for me there but also feel sorry he didnt get any enjoyment in the water after that. I've had many wonderful times with my big brother spanning from childhood to adulthood, only wish there were going to be more. It is with tears in my eyes that I finish this by saying I really love you and miss you and do me a favor, say hi to LeRoy.

I worked with Tom from April 1989 until his retirement. When I was new Tom was always there with a smile and a helping hand. We talked Tiger baseball and horses. I had a great uncle that owned 19 harness race horses that would run occasionally at Hazel park. Tom would always ask me for the hot horses in my uncles stable. When I would say Hey Tom how ya doing he would always say "if I was doin any better I'd be living your life" LOL So sad he was taken so young but glad he was able to enjoy several years of retirement. R.I.P. my friend.
