The grand old porch on Jackson Street in Macomb. Thanks for taking in a bummed out Vietnam vet and making your home a place I always felt welcome. The parties, the laughter, the music and that wonderful trip to Colorado I'm proud to say I was part of. You slid down a glacier after we climbed the side of a waterfall to find out where a stream came from. Fortunately Doug grabbed one arm and me the other or we would have lost you much sooner. You lay in the snow, looked up at the sky, and the mountains echoed with your infectious laughter! That moment in time is my most enduring memory of our friendship. Rest easy, old friend. Bless you, Carolyn, and your family. You've stepped off the train but are not forgotten. One of the good guys!
