I met Thom on a visit to a mutual friend in Taos about 20 yrs ago. He was looking for work that day to buy paints so instead I visited his studio and bought a painting. It still hangs over my fireplace at home. I very much like his sense of color and form

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Thom. My sister, Lisa, cared deeply about Thom. He will be missed by her and many others.

Although Thom was 8 years older than me, he was more like a brother than a cousin. We grew up together in the same 3 family house in Astoria, NY. He the later years we would meet in Florida at our Mom's condos and enjoy our time together. Thom was such a spiritual and artistic man. I will miss him Rest in peace my dear cousin Love you, Roger Calleo

Thank you Thom, my ol' buddy from the Boardwalk Daze. I love you, I love your art, and I miss you terribly. Thank you for all that you gave us. The Happy Hippie...

Even though I've never really spent long periods of time speaking with Thom, I felt a very wonderfully warm and kind connection with Thom, with those split second gazes we would share with one another, and for me, that is where this indescribable thing a lot of us chose to call life resides. As the picture depicts so well, anyone who knew Thom couldn't help but see the very loving intellect with such humbling kindness in those beautiful eye's of his! Through the past thirty some years of running into Thom many of time at "Dori's Bakery" and of course at Taos's first watering hole, the now "Adobe Bar" as well as on the streets of Taos, I don't ever remember a time that I didn't see Thom smiling! Now looking back at the time that I did spend around Thom he had a strong yet soft impact on me in those wonderful split seconds we shared! It was only recently that I found out Thom practiced Zen Buddhism, a practice that I started to follow at a young age, which really helped me to get in touch with the true me and away from the very heavy organized religion that was forced onto me at such a young age. I guess that I bring that up, since I realize now that the connection I have with Thom was closer than I knew! Thom, I know more deeply now of the impact that those wonderful split seconds have on me, and for that, today I am so very grateful for this awareness! Thank you! I know that you are missed and loved by many, I love you my fellow! Go in peace.......
