My Dad! The big gentle giant who wasn't much for words when we were growing up. But when he did speak we listened straight away. Just to hear him say "JAMES!" in his big voice was enough to make my heart beat nervously, and stop me from misbehaving. That's all I needed from him that was enough. I even forgave him for not being a West Ham supporter, instead he was a Spurs fan. Ha ha ha! Love you Dad and I'm gonna miss you....R.I.P xxx James

Daddy... To know I'll not hear your voice or see your smile for a while, breaks my heart. But I'm thankful that I was adopted by you, as one of your daughters. Thank you for accepting, caring and loving me, as one of your own. My special, giant, kind, fun, silent Daddy. Always in my heart. Missing you already. R.I.E.P. Daddy Martin. Glendora ❤️❤

My Pops. What can I say about my Pops? He was a strong silent man who came to life with family and friends. Growing up he was the second disciplinarian, (my Mum was the first), because I was always fearful of the phrase ‘wait till your father gets home’! However, as I got older I got to love the playful interaction that happened with the domino or card games. He was human and had a huge loving heart. This was seen so much with the grandchildren especially the first and the last, Shavone and Elias, who seemed to wrap him around their finger. (From Avril Martin)

Growing up you were the disciplinarian until you became a Granddad. You then turned into

Our Dad! A quiet man who had a presence without saying a word, just one look at you and you knew what he was thinking. He loved the family especially the grand-children. I never heard him say any bad words, maybe 'blasted' if he was frustrated. He loved his John Wayne films, especially Westerns. He loved his cricket He taught all of us kids manners. And later in life he enjoyed globe trotting in his retirement. R.I.P. DAD! Love your big son, Glenville ❤️

Dear Dad, not by blood but in all other ways you raised me as your own. Will miss you smiling and calling me daughter. RIP. (From Ideta Martin)
