Suzel Marie (Camps) Garza

April 23rd, 1947 - January 16th, 2021
Suzel Camps Garza, age 73, passed away peacefully January 16, 2021.
She was born on April 23, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to Manuel and Aurora Camps. She was the second born of four siblings in the family and the eldest daughter.
She married her high school sweetheart Anthony (Tony) Garza in August of 1970 after dating for 6 years. They were inseparable together and soon after marrying, Janelle their first daughter arrived. The family of three settled in Dallas in 1976 after a job opportunity for Tony. A few short years later brought a new baby girl to the family, Lauryn. Together they joyfully raised their two daughters and immersed themselves into the girl’s school, sports and activities. Their girls were their most important collaboration in life.
Suzy as many called her worked in the banking industry for nearly 40 years. She was a smart office manager with quick skills and a sweet, kind hearted attitude. She was a hard worker, instigator of practical jokes, and party planner to the fullest. You could certainly count on her to pick you up in a storm or rescue you at your lowest. People were drawn to her and wanted to be her friend. She remained close to many co-workers that turned into lifelong friends.
Suzy loved to laugh. She loved to create. She loved to visit with friends, throw parties, try new restaurants, play match-maker and her favorite, garage sales.
She wasn’t the type to sit still; she was always singing, painting, working on a project or humming her favorite tune. She could whip up a flower arrangement, paint a room and drive a truck with ease.
In 2015 and 2016 Suzy and Tony welcomed their two grandsons Everett and Luke whom they anxiously awaited and instantly adored. They enjoyed every minute they spent with them and loved them to the fullest. Their grandsons were their new obsession; they showed them so much love and attention.
Although Suzy was slowed down by MSA a rare brain disorder, she refused to be defined by her disease. It gradually took her balance, speech and freedom to walk or drive, but she was happy-go-lucky until the end.
Her last selfless gift was the donation of her brain, so that others with MSA can one day have a cure.
The love of her life Anthony preceded her in death just five months prior, in August of 2020. They had just celebrated 50 very special years of marriage.
Suzel is survived by her two daughters:
Janelle Byledbal (Husband Mark Byledbal and Son Luke Anthony) and
Lauryn Garza (husband Kai Aitchison and son Everett Louis)
Her deep dimples, smile and unforgettable laugh will live in our hearts forever.
