Susan Paul 77, of Niskayuna, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 18th at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was born on September 30th 1942 to Lansing Doling and Rosalind Samuels Doling. Susan was raised in Amsterdam, NY and spent some time in boarding school in Massachusetts. Anyone that knew Susan knew of her love of shoes and makeup. Her tiny frame - and feet - led her into modeling shoes and makeup in the Boston area before moving back to NY and working at Albany Memorial Hospital, marrying and starting a family. Susan’s love of fashion extended to large collections of Vogue magazines, rings, makeup, clothes, handbags and shoes. Susan’s grandchildren spent many hours admiring and playing with these collections. Her favorite days were spent poolside basking in the sun to achieve the ultimate golden bronze tan, while ensuring the highest SPF sunscreen on her face to avoid wrinkles. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting the largest afghans her 4 foot 11 inch frame could manage. She was a beautiful little lady. Susan is survived by her children, Adam Marc Paul and wife Michelle Paul, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Wendy Doling Donachie and her Husband Stephen John Donachie of Montgomery, NY and her two grandchildren Kayleigh Ruth Donachie and Brennan Paul Donachie, as well as her siblings Michael James Doling and wife Mikki Doling of Pittsford, NY and Elizabeth Smith of Orlando, Fla. as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susan's name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.nami.org

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Susan for many years at Liberty Mutual. I went on one of my most favorite vacations to Myrtle Beach with Susan. I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed so much since then. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
