Susan is my friend's mom, my mom's friend, and the wife of my dad's friend. I have known her for many, many years and still think of the silly way she called me "Kels" - like I can recall the sound perfectly:) We were never particularly close, but she is one of the warmest people I've ever known. I always felt comforted by her presence and was grateful to share space with her. I believe she was referred to as momma bear, and that's how I'll always think of her, even though she is not my mom - warm, loving and fierce. I am sad to think that I won't get that opportunity again to be around her, but I'm so grateful to have known her.

I lost my best friend to cancer this morning and heaven has another angel. We knew each other our whole lives and shared an unconditional love and friendship to match no other. We always stayed in touch and we're always there for each other. We may have gone awhile without reaching out, but we were always able to just pick up where we left off. I would like to say that those particular conversations were long although I have to confess that all of our conversations were long, just ask our husbands lol. Susie had the most gentle spirit, was loving and fun. We have a lifetime of memories together both happy and sad. If you know her children, then you know what kind of person she was, as they are also kind and loving and have grown into incredible adults! I will always be grateful for the last time we were able to be together and I will always cherish our friendship. I will love and miss you forever Susie! ❤️❤️

Today our family lost one amazing woman to a long battle with cancer. She was a mom, mother -n-law, and "Gooma." She was the most kind person to all and could always light up the room with her smile and laughter. No words can describe how we are feeling, but we know she is at peace❤
