Susan's Child
Susan Deitrick Carradice
December 11th, 1946 - December 13th, 2024
December 11th, 1946 - December 13th, 2024
On December 13, 2024, Susan Deitrick Carradice ascended to the Heavens to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior. She looked forward to joining beloved family members there. Susan was known for her ability to make friends everywhere. Her stores of love were endless, and she prayed daily for a long list of those in need. She loved music, making a joyful -and beautiful - noise in the church choir and music helped her snag her second husband.
Susan bravely endured ALS symptoms for nearly two years, supported by the boundless dedication of her loving husband of 10 years, David Lund. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Daniel M. Carradice, and her son, Peter D. Carradice. She is survived by her husband, David Lund; her son John (J.T.) Carradice, his wife Nanette, and two grandchildren, Katie and Joshua; her daughter Ruth Bradley, her husband Jay, and one grandchild, Isaac; her stepdaughter Kimberly Lund; her stepson Khristopher Lund, his wife Elaine Chan, and two grandchildren, Alexis and Malia. She was also survived by two sisters and one brother; Elaine Tomalty, Jim Deitrick, and Betsy Chutz.
Services are scheduled on Friday, December 20th at First Baptist Church of Woodbridge, VA. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will take place for family only at Quantico National Cemetery on December 27th at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life First, lifefirstva.org/give.

How did you meet Susan?
I was a friend and classmate of Susan in Grove City, PA. I remember her as always being friendly, kind, and fair. She never spoke negatively of anyone. I’ll always remember our conversations and laughs. Dearest Susan, thank you for your friendship. You were a Godsend to my troubled life. Until our paths cross again….💖 Linda Bovard Arnold

How did Susan make an impact on your life?
Susan had an impact on my life and my wife’s life. We are full-time missionaries supported by Susan. So many souls were brought into the kingdom because of her passion to reach the lost. Much of what we accomplished overseas could never have been done without her prayer and support. She prayed for us often and whenever we were in town, she made sure to make time for us in her busy schedule. What a blessing she was to us And an encouragement for us to continue in ministries blessed us in so many ways over the years. One time in particular I remember she let us stay in her timeshare in Florida for a week. She will be missed. We look forward to seeing her again one day in glory.

She was a wonderful and sweet lady to know along with her husband Dan. Had opportunities to spend time and talk with both Susan and Dan. I always left those times a much richer individual for those times. She deserves to now be in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

JT and Ruthie- your mom was legendary! She always took a keen interest in how others were doing! Loved seeing her smile leading and participating in worship at WCF and FBCW! I’ll miss her here on earth but I know she’s singing beautifully in heaven!
