Steven Garfield

Steven Allen Garfield, 31, passed away unexpectedly on 11 April 2022 in his residence in Sarasota, FL. Steven was born in Norfolk, VA on 6 January 1991. He grew up in Fort Myers/Cape Coral, FL going to school and playing travel ice hockey where he would form lifelong friendships and memories. Steven was predeceased by his grandfather Chic Bancroft. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth, parents, Dawn & Andrew Plate, father, Shawn Garfield, and grandmothers Rosina Bastone, Barbara Bancroft, and Peggy Garfield. Steven will also be missed by his stepbrothers, sisters, aunt, uncle, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered for his bright smile, passionate spirit, and creative soul. Joining Steven in eternal rest is his girlfriend, Aleia Jones. Both had been in recovery from long battles with addiction and were living together at the Harvest House in Sarasota. They had made such great strides over the last three years climbing out of the darkness that is addiction. Making amends for past wrongs, taking steps to better themselves, and building for a brighter future. Unfortunately, too many lives are cut down by this terrible epidemic of opioid addiction.
