The Williamsons have been our next door neighbors for many years. It was always a pleasure talking to Steve when we were outside doing yardwork with his infectious smile and laugh. We're sure you will continue to watch over your family, Steve. Phil, Sue, Cameron, Austin, Suki, and Morgan have your family in our thoughts.

Steve will be missed! His "wit" and sense of humor on things always made the day. I met him back in 2003 when working in Mesa at P&H and he was still with Phelps Dodge at the time. Great guy! Deepest sympathy and condolences on the lost to you. BR, Jeff Roschyk
Ginger
Steve was my little brother until he grew bigger and stronger than me. He liked playing board games and card games. As a young boy he picked the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite team and remained loyal all his life. He became a big fan of ASU sports. Steve like playing basketball, tennis and golf. He was competitive and liked to win. He enjoyed being a father and providing for his family. He was proud they all went to college and had successful careers. He enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren. I always knew I could count on him for help and support. I am thankful he was my brother! Ginger

I have many fond memories of my cousin Steve as well as his sisters, Ginger and Elaine. We frequently spent Christmas or summer vacations together. One particular memory I have of Steve was at Christmas when Steve and I were about 15 (we were born the same year, though Steve liked to tell me he was my "older cousin"--at least until we hit 50). Christmas was at our house that year in Ocean Springs, MS. My mother had put me in charge of wrapping presents from our family. She happened to have purchased some decorative boxes in addition to wrapping paper. I decided any presents that went in one of the decorative boxes would just get a stick-on bow and a name tag. The plain boxes got wrapped. Steve’s present from us happened to be in one of the boxes with a bow. For some reason that bothered him, and he let me know it. At the time he preferred to have gifts wrapped so he could unwrap it—I don’t know if that continued into adulthood or how he felt about gift bags when those came around. I think about that every time I wrap a present, which was much more acutely this year with an occasional tear as I thought about my cousin Steve and how I wish I we had been in more communication as adults. I have no doubt he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. I will continue to think about Steve every time I wrap a present and reflect on those times we spent playing basketball, touch football, ping pong and board games when our families got together.

When I starting dating Ginger, Steve became the bother I never had. It was a milestone when he could beat me at one-on-one basketball in the driveway. I was honored that he followed in my footsteps to Rose-Hulman. He used his engineering education and his own strengths of hard work and working with people for a successful career. I appreciate the help and support he provided to Ginger and I. He was Ginger's cheerleader as she recovered from surgery and he made a surprise drive to Texas just a few short weeks ago to help with anything we needed. I wish that he would have had more years to interact with his grandchildren and to volunteer at a golf course in a long retirement.
