In lieu of flowers or other mementos, please make a gift to one of the following four causes: 1) The family of Berenice Felipe, the teen-age diver who was traveling with the family. The Salika/Adamics had made Berenice a part of their family on several trips and vacations. Berenice left behind her mother, father, and a younger sister. You can ease their financial burdens at either giving to the Facebook fundraiser, or the Memorial Fund on GoFundMe organized for their benefit. 2) The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, where Diana and Tia both volunteered many hours, and fostered several litters of kittens. 3) Secore International is doing innovative work on restoring coral reefs in several tropical locations. The whole family believed strongly in marine conservation. 4) Divers Alert Network (DAN) has created a fund to be shared equally by all the families of those lost on the Conception, regardless of financial need.
