Loved Ones

She was a beautiful person who was a blessing in all our lives, and a firm believer of Christ. Silvia Shaw-Wei Hung Moy (熊梅小慧) was full of joy, practical advice, and always eager to help out, whenever she saw the opportunity. Silvia was born in Hong Kong on September 11, 1961, to Moy Kwong Kang (梅剛强) and Moy Wong Mun Ying (黃敏英) in a family with five older brothers. She came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Tai Po Baptist Church. In 1985, Silvia came to the U.S. as foreign student studying at a university in San Francisco, where she lived with her Uncle Willy and Auntie Nancy. When she met Herman Hung in 1986, it was love at first sight. They were engaged several months later in Dallas, Texas. The couple married in Chicago, Illinois on April 25, 1987. They bought a house and lived in Algonquin, Illinois, where Silvia resumed her education and received her Associate’s in Accounting in 1989. God blessed them with their first daughter, Tiffany, in 1990. The young family was relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1991 due to Herman's job at Hewlett-Packard. God blessed them with their second daughter, Kimberly, in 1994. Herman was laid off in 2001, after working 20 years at Hewlett-Packard. To support the family, Herman worked at several odd jobs before working permanently at the IRS, and Silvia worked as a preschool teacher at the North Peachtree Baptist Church. Although they faced financial challenges for several years, God always provided them with enough to meet their needs. Silvia was the church organist at the Chinese Baptist Church in Chicago, and later at the First Chinese Baptist Church of Atlanta. Silvia also played piano and flute, and encouraged people to enjoy music. She loved to praise our Lord by singing traditional hymns, and even started the church children’s choir. She organized and directed FCBCA’s first Christmas play. Silvia enjoyed gardening because she saw God’s beauty in nature and loved seeing gardens filled with vibrant flowers. She loved to make desserts to share with everyone. Silvia is survived by her husband Herman Hung (熊振慶), her older daughter Tiffany (熊偉婷), her son-in-law Jacob, and her younger daughter Kimberly (熊偉珊). She was a sweet, gentle, caring, and loving wife to Herman for 32 years and was his best friend. She was the best mother to Tiffany and Kimberly. She is survived by five older brothers: Kwong-Choi 廣才, Cainan 廣文, Frank 廣勳, Ralph 廣恩, Kwong-Chuen 廣泉. She is also survived by other close relatives dear to her. Now she is at peace with God in heaven, which is a much better place than here on Earth. Silvia always reminded us to trust and obey God, to have faith in Jesus, to be happy, and to praise the Lord in all circumstances!
