Shirley Vaughn Jackson

Shirley V. Jackson was the second WH&OMS District President under whom I served (after Annabel Addison), who became the historic and final District missionary leader of the "Conquering" Brooklyn District. I shared with Mrs. Jackson that her efficacy to inspire innovation and extraordinary service unto the people of God and His kingdom would indeed serve the Women's Society well if she became General President (now known as International President). Though this would not be her pursuit or calling, she did fulfill her mission charge, not sparing gifts nor grace divinely deposited into her life. May her rest be sublime as she deservedly enter our Master's joy! Ruth Young District President NYC District W.H.&O.M.S. (A.M.E. Zion)
