Sherry Vaid

Sherry was born and named Shivinder Hundal in 1968 to parents Parmjit Singh Hundal and Jasbir Kaur. She was mother of two sons Saajan and Aman, married to Lovedeep Vaid, who she met at Coventry Polytechnic in 1986. Her mother named her Sherry. She grew up in Ilford, Rochdale, Solihull but mainly Redditch near Birmingham. She worked at London School of Economics as their Chief Cashier. Sadly, she passed away due to the coronavirus on 15th April 2020. Larger than life in every way, Sherry lived her life with an indomitable truth. She provided a loving home giving her family and friends love and eternal friendship. She was at the heart of all gatherings, inclusive of all. She was a huge fan of music throughout her life both western and Punjabi sounds and was there as an active advocate when the UK Bhangra scene launched in the eighties and continued to be there after. Her favourite singer had to be George Michael, who she saw live several times. She was a keen fan of gadgets, holidays and being social. She would always have the latest technology and device and was the default IT support especially for her Mum and Dad! Sherry was a central figure head of the family a natural born leader with good knowledge of the world we are in. She lived a fulfilling life albeit shortened as far as conventions go. She was a good person and her heavenly call came early. Our Queen Bee has gone and like a legendary rock star left us all behind... We will miss her very much. Her memory and presence lives on in all she touched and met, especially her children.
