Sherry Farmer

Mrs. Sherry Pollard Farmer, 69, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 am in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the grave following the service. Mrs. Farmer, daughter of the late James Earl Pollard and Margie Pollard, was a native of Pitt County from the Belvoir community. A member of Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church, she worked for many years with the Pitt County Department of Social Services, retiring in 2011. Sherry loved the time that she spent on the coast fishing. She also enjoyed gardening and was devoted to her family, treasuring time spent with them. Known for her sweet spirit, she had a kind heart that was well suited to caretaking and helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin M. Grant. She is survived by her husband, George Farmer; daughters, Kim Simpkins and husband Rex of Winterville and Kellie Grant Hagen of Greenville; step-children, Lauren Hoggard and husband Randy of Aulander, Christie Johnson of Vanceboro and Jonathan McKeel and wife Louise of Robersonville; grandchildren, Courtney Reid and husband Asa, Matt Simpkins, Brett Hagen, Grant Hagen, Kaylin Hagen, Bryce Wigginton, Chloe Wigginton and Rhiannon Hoggard; brothers, Mike Pollard and Mark Pollard and wife Shannon; special cousin, JoAnne Haddock and special friend, Deborah Lilly. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kevin M. Grant Scholarship with the Pitt Community College Foundation, P.O. Drawer 7007, Greenville, NC 27835.
