Scott (Scotty) A. Courson was a brother, a father, son, uncle, cousin, NAVY Veteran, Watch DOG volunteer and Computer Technician and Facilities Manager for CBRE-McKesson. Scott loved his home state of Colorado so much he returned after being stationed in Hawaii. Scott was the type of person who never met a stranger and offered a smile and assistance to anyone who asked. He loved his family and friends and had a passion for nature, fishing, movies, roller coasters, and cooking. Scott lost his father, Ron Courson to cancer on May 5. While Scott was smiling on the outside, we now know that he was struggling more than anyone realized. Due to his battle with alcoholism and depression, Scott was not able to see his son. On Father's Day, June 20, Scott was clearly struggling with these new realities. Scott's death by suicide is a tragedy that has impacted so many. Scott's legacy should be all of us reminding ourselves that there is no shame in asking for help. There is no shame is asking a friend or family for company. You are not your thoughts or your mistakes. You are loved. Be groovy to yourself and one another. It is what Scotty would have wanted. While the family recovers from the loss of both Ron and Scott we ask that you honor Scott by donating to two worthy causes. Veteran's PATH is a wonderful non-profit that supports veterans through mindfulness and resilience building. You can donate to them directly from this memorial page. Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (Boulder, CO) is another incredible non-profit that we would like to raise funds for in memory of Scott. Please use the link below. Thank you. https://safehouse-denver.org/

I met Scotty through my cousin. They worked together in San Jose at BMC. We hit it off from the start. We lost touch after he moved back home to Colorado. When we did reconnect it was like picking up where we left off. Scotty, I will love you forever. I miss you and our conversations. I wish I had current pictures of us. But here are a few of your favorite. The kids were so little!

A small service will be held for Scott Courson at Fort Logan National Cemetery on October 14 at 10:15am. We hope to keep this service to those close friends and family who knew Scotty. We invite EVERYONE who knew and loved Scott to the reception following at 2pm at Candelas Parkview Rec Center 19865 W 94th Ave, Arvada. Masks are required at both locations. This is a time to be with each other, support each other and check in on each other. In that effort, we are requiring you to show your care for Scott's friends and family by getting vaccinated and wearing a mask.

My heartfelt condolences to Scott's family and friends. I just heard about his passing. I did not know Scott personally but worked with him for the last 5 years. He was always very kind and gracious. He will be missed.
