July 28th, 1943 - January 6th, 2025
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. - Daniel 12:3
Our beloved Sarah Anne Salmen (Sally), age 81, of Nampa, ID, left us peacefully on January 6th, 2025 after her 10-year battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Born on July 28, 1943, in El Centro, California, Sally grew up the only daughter of Gladys Holtzer and Fredrick Salmen and sister to one brother, Charles Fredrick Salmen. She always had a love for life, people, adventure, and most importantly her Lord.
On December 17, 1967, she married the love of her life, Thomas Wayne Snow, after corresponding through letters for over a year while Wayne served in the Army overseas. The two were married three months after he returned home and celebrated their 57th anniversary just weeks before Sally’s passing. They were blessed with two daughters, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren (with one more on the way).
Sally was an inspiration and mentor to many, both children and adults alike. After graduating from Whittier College in 1965, and attaining her teaching credential, she dedicated her life to elementary education both at home and abroad. She was also influential in countless children’s lives as she and Wayne were foster parents and hosted international students for many years. Her ability to help children learn, make them feel loved, and keep them in order (and in a straight line) was unprecedented.
Sally is survived by her husband, Thomas Wayne Snow, and daughters, Natalie Snow and Eve Austin, son-in-law Tim Austin, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Martha Salmen, grandchildren Joseph Ringgenberg (and wife, Allison Ringgenberg), Victoria Ringgenberg, Adrianne Austin, Luke Austin (and wife, Maria Austin), and Emma Austin, as well as her great grandchildren, Lucie Conley, Abel and Leni Ringgenberg, Valor Verheyen, and Naomi Austin (soon to be joined by her little brother).
Although Sally is no longer with us, her legacy of joy, her faith, and exuberance in all she did will live on in the lives of her family and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life for Sally will be held on February 8th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Church 724, located at 1830 N Linder Rd, Meridian, ID 83646.
All are welcome!

Sally was my favorite teacher in the Solid Rock School of Ministry, when my son and I were attending. Sally was always upbeat and an awesome educator on GODS word and the things that he did in her personal life. I loved to hear the stories of her family in Tajikistan as missionaries.

I believe my first meeting with Sally was in the Summer of 2006. We led a children’s program together with a few other adults overseas. Sally was lovely to work with and loved everyone she met. She always showed interest in everyone one around her and was a woman of prayer. I so appreciated every visit they made to their daughter overseas because that usually meant I got to see her and Wayne too. I am so grateful to have known her for few times we visited together. She had a servants heart and always made me feel that I was a part of the family. I am grateful that this good-bye is really just see you later. She is with the Lord dancing and whole in her heavenly home!

Sally Snow is an amazing Woman of God whom greatly influenced my life. She inspired me to become a woman who loved children and teens. We served in ministry together and loved on students at Kings Christian school. Thank you Wayne, Natalie and Eve and families for so generously sharing Sally with me and so many others. With love and prayers, TaniaMarie Nichols

More than 40 years ago we met this smiling, energetic, vivacious woman known as Sally Snow. She and husband Wayne were in our Chico congregation. Little did we know that a lifetime of service and friendship would continue to grow. Time and space have not dimmed that friendship. Now she is with the Lord, and we celebrate her memories with joy and thankfulness. Our love and prayers for Wayne and family as we all grow up forward. Blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus. I will always remember Sally Snow as Mrs. Snow. An amazing Kingdergarten, First & Second, 4th Grade teacher. After 4th grade her and Mr. Snow remained important people in my life. She taught me so much about God and worship. I will always remember her waving banners in the sanctuary.
