The dirt was his canvas, and he painted it with tire marks.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Thomas Gordon IV, beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle. Sam, age 32, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025.

Samuel was a talented mechanic and plumber, known for his skill and dedication to his craft. He was also a proud member of the recovery community, celebrating his sobriety.

Samuel had a passion for all things mechanical from a young age. He built his first car transmission at the tender age of 6, foreshadowing a lifetime of tinkering and fixing anything that crossed his path. In his free time, Sam was an avid dirt biker, finding joy and freedom in the great outdoors. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and could often be found near a garage, surrounded by tools.

Sam will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who remember him as a kind and caring soul with a heart filled with love. His legacy of hard work, determination, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Sam is survived by his parents, Darsi and John Fox; sisters, Ashleigh Ginley (nephew Barrett Ginley), Anita Fox, and Amelia Fox; grandparents, George and Judy Fenzl; partner, Jessica Goldsmith.

Rest in peace, Sammy. You will always be remembered and cherished.

We invite you to a celebration of his life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Wellington Clubhouse (9700 Wellington Road, Manassas, VA 20110). Sam was a dear friend starting from elementary school. There were many times him and I both ended up a little left out in school - but we always found each other and ended up having the best time laughing and goofing off. I remember his laugh and his cheeky smile fondly. The same scenario happened our senior year of high school. At prom, we once again we found ourselves paired up, we went together and acted just like little kids again - laughing and goofing off all night. I'm so glad we reconnected around that time and wished I would've stayed in touch as we became adults, especially now knowing we're both in recovery, it would've been nice to have that laughter in my life during some of the hardest times. Sam was such a joyful person whose Mohawk touched the sky. Rest in Paradise Bubblegum 💕
