Tony and I were saddened to hear of your dear husband, father passing. Upon reading his history in the newspaper he had a very full and rewarding life. We first met Sam at the famous watering hole, Sampan. He was always so kind and generous to us. My brother-in-law, Justin Gamayo, had the pleasure of working with Sam at the Dept of Transportation. He was a good man and we will be fondly remembered by many. Take care and cherish the memories. Tony and Bellarine Gonzales

Dear Louie Family, Sad to hear of your loss but our family have warm memories of Sam. My Dad worked with Sam and your home was always so welcoming to all of us kids from Tokay High School who would be there working on band activities on school projects. Sam would be in the background sometimes laughing and sometimes probably just trying to find some peace. Our condolences and warm wishes for you all. -Bob Lauchland

Dear Lorna and family, We have enjoyed being your neighbor and friends for over 50 years. During those years Sam has done so much for us. He helped us with our remodeling project, taught us many cooking tricks and even had us over to enjoy his delicious meals. We enjoyed his and Lorna 's chatting in the driveway, going on a trip to Taiwan and China and enjoying his many parties. Its been a great ride living next to the Louie family. We will miss Sam and his happy warm smile Thank you for being such close friends 💓 Ken and Yukiye

As a board member of the Quan Ying Foundation Sam, for many years, faithfully participated in senior housing discussions affecting the low-income seniors living in the old area of what was known as Stockton's Chinatown. Our board will miss his elderly counsel. As a friend of Sam dating back to our CalTrans days of the 1960s I will remember his introduction to his father, Yee Pai and Sam's helping attitude to his community and to me. Thank you, Sam.
