Ryan A. “Murph” Murphy, age 51, was set free on November 25,2022 while surrounded by his loving family. Ryan battled a short, but hard-fought battle with cholangiocarcinoma and asked that his friends and family not mourn his passing because his future plans include: meeting up with his mom and good friend, Howie; drinking a lot of Busch Light; shaking dice and taking everyone’s money; and finding new secret fishing spots. Ryan was a lifelong resident of Neillsville, WI, and co-owner of C & R Concrete. Ryan and his good friend, Chad Kuehn, formed C & R Concrete after working together at Tesmer Construction for several years. When not working, Ryan could usually be found hunting or fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman, and his personal nickname was “the killer”. Ryan hunted and fished throughout the Midwest and during deer season, usually got the bigger buck—resulting in his brother, Kevin (aka: Haji), losing their wager and buying the majority of dinners over the years. Those who knew Ryan will remember his wit, humor, inappropriate jokes, creative nicknames for those he loved and his disgust for the Biden administration. In 2020, Ryan met the “love of his life” Tracey Millard. Ryan said the last 3 years of his life with Tracey and their dog, Bucky, were the best years of his life. Ryan will be greatly missed by “the love of his life”, Tracey Millard, their giant chocolate lab, Bucky; bonus daughter, Parker McDonald; favorite brother, Kevin (Judy) Zickert, favorite sister, Kellie Murphy (Neil Czarnecki); niece, Bekkah Zickert; niece, Karsen Czarnecki and favorite nephew, Krue Czarnecki. In addition to seeing and hugging his mother, Dorothy Resong, and great friend and mentor, Howie Kosmosky, Ryan will be hugging his grandmother, Dorothy Langreck and grandfather, Willie Bagwell. Per Ryan’s request no funeral services will be held and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

I'll never forget the time I was fortunate to spend with Ryan. Whether it was the 100's of miles walking side by side hunting whitetails on deer drives or the 1000's of hours fishing at Lake Arbutus, Little Bay De Noc, or the countless hours hanging out with him in his kitchen just catching up and talking about anything and everything, I'll never forget any of it. Ryan's enthusiasm for the outdoors was contagious for anyone who spoke to him, he had a gift of bringing his experiences to life while sharing them with whoever was listening. Ryan always was the example on how to mentor younger people who were getting involved in the outdoors. He brought excitement for those kids. These kids looked up to him with every ounce of respect they had and appreciated what he did for them after only a few short hours of spending time with him doing something he loved. Rest in Peace Ryan. You will never be forgotten by so many and you had such a positive influence on so many people who were lucky enough to have met or knew you. I know you'll be waiting for all of us to meet again, but it's gonna be a while bud. We have a legacy to carry on by killing some big bucks and catching bigger walleyes for a while yet. RIP bud, I'll miss you forever.
