In Loving Memory of Ruby Doo
Ruby was truly one of a kind. Warm-hearted, kind, and beautifully ghetto fabulous, she carried a spirit that lit up any room she entered. Her laugh was goofy, loud, and unforgettable- a sound that could turn even the heaviest day into something bearable.
She was a devoted mother of two, Mae’Lee and Wesley, and loved her babies with all her heart. Being their mom was her greatest joy.
Ruby fought battles most never saw. She struggled with addiction but fought with everything she had to rise above it. She went to rehab, got sober, and for a time it felt like she was unstoppable- stepping into the life she was always meant to have. But addiction is cruel and unforgiving. A single relapse was enough to take her from us far too soon.
Her family and friends already miss her in ways words can’t capture. We’ll miss the late-night talks, her contagious laugh, and the comfort of knowing she was only ever a phone call away. She had a gift for making even the darkest days survivable.
During her time in jail, Ruby discovered her voice through poetry- raw, unfiltered words that carried her pain, her hope, and her truth. One day, her poems will be published so the world can hear her soul the way we always did.
Ruby was a mom, a sister, cousin, niece, aunt, and granddaughter. She is survived by her two children, Mae’Lee and Wesley; her sister, Kayla; her cousin, Lee; and her brother, Lance. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her grandparents, and countless uncles, aunts, and cousins.
We love you forever, Ruby Doo. 🖤

What words would you use to describe Ruby?
I would describe Ruby as Beautiful, Funny, Loving, Strong~willed, Outspoken and Kind hearted. Ruby is the mother of my grandchildren and I can’t believe she is not here to see them grow into the amazing, loving, kind hearted people they will become. She loved them with every inch of her heart and soul. Ruby and I become close toward the later years I knew her. I will always carry a special place for her in my heart. I am devastated that she is no longer here with us. I wish life would have been a little more kind to her. She fought more demons than most will ever know. All she wanted was to be loved, valued, and appreciated. She is free from all the hurt, pain, the brokenness she suffered through. I love you Ruby~Doo! Forever
