Roy Lane Sams passed away on January 11, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital with liver cancer. He was born January 26, 1960 to William Richard and Bettjean Wigal Sams.

Roy was an avid member of the Pioneer Antique Power Association. He collected John Deere Tractor memorabilia.

Roy served in the United States Army.

Roy was preceded in death by his father Richard and sister Candy (Rita) Schoonover.

Roy is survived by his mother Bettjean, fiance and partner of 23 years Laurie Capron, son Justin Sams, sister's Cynthia Goff (Mike), Denise Foraker (Ron), and brother Rock Sams (Jackie). He is also survived by his two close friends Roger Snider and Fred Chapman and several nieces and nephews and two maternal aunts.
