December 23rd, 2015

Rosemary Rachelson, a beautiful soul, was born December 12, 1949 in a small town in southern Mississippi. She lived in Mississippi until the age of twelve when she moved to Buffalo, New York. Rosemary was a unique, gorgeous, generous, and independent woman that put herself through college to become an occupational therapist. Those that knew and loved her remember that she always put her needs a distant second to those she cared about. Just to meet her and talk to her was to fall in love with her. She met the love of her life, Herb Rachelson, in 1972. She is survived by her children Joanna, Josh and Simone, grandchildren Josiah and Elijah, husband Herbert Rachelson, mother Mattile Clark, sisters Sand and Mary Clark, and brother Lee Cadney. She passed peacefully on 12/23/2015 surrounded by family and friends. It was an honor to know and adore her. We will sorely miss her. The family would like to thank all those who came by to show support in her last days. A Memorial will be held 4pm Friday, January 1st at Taos Country Club. Arrangements by Rivera Family Funeral Home.

Rosemary, whom I referred to as "Peaches", rode the local school bus together to Russum and Port Gibson, Ms. We had loads of fun on the bus because most of the children riding the bus were from the "Westside Community". Our families were all very close and knew each other very well. So if one of us got in trouble, we all did. I distinctly remember playing at Peaches grandmothers house Ms. Joanna - and we got in trouble playing in the house. She made us both get out quickly before we each got a " whopping"...done in love. I remember the childrens choir we both sung in our home church..Mt. Olive, along with her cousins, Shirley, "Mickey" and others. We had so much fun together! When she left the community, I was very sad to see her leave. I considered her my very first "best friend". I am sorry to say that we did not keep in touch. Our paths both took us in different directions. However, I would always ask about her and I remember seeing her twice since she moved to Taos. Peaches was a lovely person, always happy with a beautiful smile. I thank God to have known her and be able to call her - friend. Rest in Peace!

Dear Herb and Family, When my son called me today and told me of the passing of Peaches my heart fell so far. So many tears. We have been friends since we were twelve years old. I loved my friend so much. We shared so many good memories. My heart is so sad. I'll miss her forever. I love you Rosemary (Peaches).

I extend condolences to the family. I am one of Peaches (as she was affectionately known) classmates from her home town. To know her, was to love her. May God keep the family in His bosom always. We will continue to pray for you

Dear Herb, Simone, Josh, Joanna and family: We are so deeply saddened to hear of Rosemarys passing. We, as a family, have many fond memories of Rosemary, during the high school years of Josh and Candyce and she was the best landlady any renter could ever ask for! We send our sincere sympathy to all of you at this time. Jon, Kerry, Candyce and Kendra Hedlund
