Our father, Tineiafi Ronald Fa’alevao Fano, passed away at the age of 80 in Hayward, CA surrounded by his loving family at home. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Aiono Kalala Luania Fano, 11 children, 28 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Our father was an attorney but retired in 2012 from the City of Oakland- Tax, Budget, & Finance Agency. Ronald loved to serve God and has been doing so at our home church, the First Samoan Congregational Christian Church of Alameda/Oakland for the last 34 years serving in different ministries. He passed away as a lay preacher for the church. Our father was dedicated to serving our Samoan community in the Bay Area, and did so through many avenues but mostly by serving as one of the first members of the Samoan Community Development Center Executive board in San Francisco, CA. He loved his Samoan community and paving a way for our people and community in the Bay Area.Ronald love to enjoy time with family & friends. He loved music and singing. And he was also a long time member for the San Francisco Samoan Golf Association and enjoyed playing golf and hanging out with friends in his younger days.Besides all this, our father loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. He loved God and served wholeheartedly, and did his best to instill these values in his children/grandchildren. He was a humble man of a few words, but spoke up when needed. He had such a big heart and loved his family, church family, friends, and anyone he met. We love and miss you always Dad! Forever in our hearts, til we meet again! Ia manuia lau malaga i le lagi…
