I've finished life's chores assigned to me, So put me on a boat headed out to sea. Please send along my fishing pole. For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.

Mr. Ronald Allen, 60, transcended to the other side Monday, August 18th 2025 at Hillsboro Hospice Home.

Ronald was born in Ravenna, Ohio on February 4th 1965, son to Norma and Ken Allen. Ronald loved life, and spending time with friends/family. His early years were filled with memorable trips to Goggler Lake with his family, visiting grandma colvin's farm, and simply living life to the fullest. Ronald went off to join the military at 17, later landing him in the panhandle of Florida. This is where his love for saltwater, and scuba diving began. His passion was so strong, he and his wife of 33 years, Dawn Allen, dedicated 30 years to creating TnT Saltwater Aquariums, where he spent sleepless nights ensuring that his customers loved the hobby as much as him. He had a special bond with his grandson, Yarmel Allen-McKoy, spending all the time he could bonding with him. He loved gatherings, good music, and most importantly great meals. His family was the root of his life, and he fought for them. Ronald was so loved, and will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his Wife Dawn Allen of Raeford; Daughters Tonya and Tiffany Allen of Raeford; Grandson Yarmel Allen-McKoy; Mother Norma Allen of Akron OH; Sister Tamera Bailey of Akron OH; Sister Deborah Cosgrove of OH; Brother Michael Allen of Wadsworth OH and many extended friends and family. He is predeceased by his Father Kenneth Allen; and Grandmother Esther Belle Colvin.

Not going to lie, seeing this on my timeline truly broke my heart. I’ve followed posts about his journey as he faced cancer, and it’s been difficult to process even from a distance. Through my friendship with Tonya, Ron was a meaningful part of my teenage years and early adulthood. He was always so kind to me, taking us out, treating me to dinner, giving my brother a job. And boy did he know how to host a party! From 4th of July, to birthdays, and even hosting a wedding party for me and my ex-husband. That gesture in particular has always stayed with me, because while my own parents weren’t particularly enthusiastic, Ron and Nicky made it feel special, like it truly mattered. I will always be deeply grateful for the role he played in those moments of my life. With that, I say, thank you, Ron. Party on, sir.

Rest in peace Ron. I will always think of us sharing our birthdays in class. I will continue to think of you every 4 February! I still think in hours older than you, but have forgotten. I guess we will find out when we meet again friend!

Ron was like a second dad to me growing up. Being one of Tiffany’s childhood best friends, I was constantly at their house! From watching movies together, going to dinner, to swimming in their pool. He always treated me nothing less than like he had another daughter of his own. He will be so missed with his jokes. 💛 so grateful to have had him a part of my childhood growing up.
