What a man so funny so cheeky! Always asking when I’m getting married, Every time I seen him. Favourite saying on the bar is how much? Or £1 for cash. He could put a smile on anyone’s face no matter what mood their in :) He loved the quiz at the plough will seem strange him not being sat in his usual place :( will definitely be missed. RIP our roger :) xxxxx

The year was 2002, it was the first year of Fame Academy. It was the final and the winner was going to be crowned it was down to Sinéad Quinn (the Riley kids favourite) and David Sneddon. Dad thought it would be funny to put the “Riley Curse” on Sinéad. It worked because she didn’t win! That was the first memory I have of the Riley curse and certainly wasn’t the last. I wonder if Sinéad knows the REAL reason why she didn’t win? https://youtu.be/1jX0FdaCyX0?si=u4lh3Alz-qoivm_l

Dad, We've been estranged since Mum's passing but that doesn't mean I wasn't saddened to here this. I often spoke about you and told little stories from when I was a child like when you used to take us on walks without Mum. You used to say, "I wonder what your Mum's up to" knowing full well she would be reading a book in the kitchen. You used to laugh when you pulled up outside the house and you'll see her dash up and put the book down. For years you used to take us on New Year's Day to Skegness, everything being closed and cold but you enjoyed the walk. I'll always be thankful for everything you did for us growing up as without a doubt, you made sure all of us had the best of everything. You used to say, you worked away alot so that you could afford us to live the life of Riley and we certainly did. Sleep tight, Dad. From Emma, and your grandchildren, Sophie, Katieleigh, Abbie, Daniel, Corey and your great-granddaughter, Wynter-Rhae.
