Robert Leaman Gerlach, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully under the loving care of his family on January 4, 2019. He was born June 8, 1948 in Ripley, WV, son of the late Frederick Bertram and Ruth Blandina Jackson Gerlach. Robert had proudly served his country in the US Air Force, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He had owned and operated Parkersburg Lock Service for many years. Surviving Robert are his loving wife Minda Williams Gerlach and their dogs Ace and Ninni. Per Robert request there will be no services.

We feel privileged to have known Robert. He was a big, strong man, with a tender heart. Robert always made us feel so welcome, and we knew that he was truly happy to see you when you came for a visit. We will miss Robert as we would a family member, because in our hearts he was family. They don't make them like him anymore, and we are so lucky that we were able to get to know the Gerlach's and spend as much time with him as we did. He was so loved, and will be so missed...

Dear Minda, From the Thomas and Anna Stull family, my sympathy on the passing of Robert. I had tried to locate him when Tom passed away in 2015, but to no avail. We send our prayers and peace to you , knowing he is at rest now. I don't know if you knew that he was our neighbor in Reno, Oh . around 30 plus years ago, and he took Tom under his wing at locksmithing. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
