I went to HS with Ritchie and would go on hikes with him at Blackstar canyon. We visited his family cabin when we were 21 and he wanted to complete the song 99 bottles of beer on the wall. Most people would laugh it off after 88, but he had us going until 0. He had some tenacity for fun and nonsense. I think that's what bonded us as friends. We reconnected several years later and I would play frisbee with him in the park near where he lived in Yorba Linda. He also loved music and we would share artists and bands. He would force me to play piano at his place. He said it relaxed him. Haha, the guy was a character. He really enjoyed the outdoors and had such as big heart; anyone could be his friend. He would always be kind in his own way to anyone. Each time I went to play frisbee, there would be someone new he met and convinced to play. Life can get anyone of us down, but I always saw him with hope in his eyes despite everything. I sincerely hope you found peace, Ritchie.

Ritche your missed already and won’t be forgotten. Was a pleasure my friend until next time. Being your neighbor when I lived with David and Lani was a great time

I miss you man. Think about you all the time.
Zack Klima
My name is Zack Klima, one of Ruth’s foster children who was adopted at roughly 3 years old. Richie and I grew up together and remained close for years as I would always visit California to see my biological Grandma. Richie and I did everything together, so many memories with him. I am incredibly sad to hear of his passing. He was incredibly smart, his aptitude for software development was next to none. We experienced growing up together and we’re like 2 peas in a pod. I am very sad by this news and I will pray for the Hanning family all together. Please reach out to me if anyone has anything they want to say

This has been a hard thing for me to write about but Ritchie was our next door neighbor. We moved in a year ago and Ritchie took to my fiancé David and I immediately. He called us mother and father.During this year I seen Ritchie go thru some transitions in his health declining and his health was going down fast.David and I did what we could for him he was like our son.Ritchie was a very friendly person and was always smiling and listening to his music is what he loved to do .Ritchie had many friends in our complex and was well liked by many.Ritchie had CHF and edema he would call me all the time and say mother I need help so I would give him the knowledge that I had to help him out I think Ritchie was so very afraid of hospitals that he just was dealing with his disease the best way he knew how too.He was like a son to me so I would tell him just like I do my own kids he didn’t always agree with what I told him but I did it for his own good and he respected that. The last couple of months of his life were heart trenching for us because Ritchie was really suffering and he was having a hard time accepting his disease and was also in disbelief that he would tell David that he was going to get better and that his drs misdiagnosed him.We had spent many days and nights with trying to comfort Ritchie to the best we knew how too but this was not an easy thing to see such a young man go through what he was dealing with.Ritchie loved to watch our dog Rockstar it made him so happy to have him by his side. But had to put Rockstar down on June 4 2021.Boy did Ritchie miss him he would talk about him a lot but he then took a turn for the worst and his organs were shutting down and Ritchie got more weak and then he could barely move around let alone could barely walk.So Ritchie would call my David 24-7 if he needed anything and David was there for him.The last month Ritchie lived was the worst for him his breathing and his body were shutting down but you couldn’t tell him that he was scared to die.Right after his bday on Oct 19 he went down hill he stayed in the house all the time and wouldn’t be able to get up he was so weak he would call us sometimes several times a day to go pick him up because he had fallen and couldn’t get up at that point is when we told him he needed to go into the hospital because he couldn’t care for himself but he kept putting it off he was very scared to be by himself and wanted to die at home.Nov 8 2021 was Davids 60th bday and that’s when Ritchie had told David he was ready to go to the hospital after he took a bath but that wasn’t the case his roommate called 911 because Ritchie couldn’t get out of the bath so he was admitted that morning and never returned back home.Ritchie had called us a few times asking for David to go see him but unfortunately because he was not vaccinated he was unable to visit him.I put a call into the hospital on the 18 of November and spoke to Ritchie and his stumbling of words to us was :hey guys its serious it doesn’t look good I’m not gonna be around much longer got to go my uncle is talking to hospice now and he hung up the following morning Ritchie had passed.Ritchie (son) you will be missed so much especially David is lost without you but you will watch over him I know well heaven gained a new angel love you Ritchie RIP.I truly believe that god puts people in our lives for his own reasons and I have faith that Ritchie is in a better place pain free and is watching over all of his loved ones that he’s left behind til we meet again.Thank you Ritchie for being in our lives and my condolences to you Elizabeth and your family I’m glad we met stay strong and have faith and know that everything will be ok
