Gone but not forgotten.
Richard, Rick to his friends, was a fierce loving man. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School, then attended State University of New York (SUNY) Morrisville in 1970. He was drafted for the Vietman War not long after he began college and he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His hobbies include building cars, telling stories, riding his motorcycles and shooting. After the service, he went back to building cars at the Shop, where he built his black corvette airbox racer.
October 9th, 1982, he married Kelley and then came his 3 children, Michael, Chet and Kellyn. He built a hunting cabin by hand, had a brotherhood in the motorcycle club. Then, Rick moved to Florida and built houses until he retired.
In his later years, he met and fell in love with Mary, and even found himself back to work at his son Chet's motorcycle shop. He enjoyed being a grandfather to Jacob, Karly and Elliott.
His last project that he was very proud of (and we were impressed by) was the hot rod that he built by hand.
This memorial has been secured and will live on forever. I ask that any and all who knew and loved him to share their stories about him here as well as any photos there may be. If you visit this page, please leave a comment or story of some kind. This has been a very difficult time for us as dad's passing was sudden and unexpected and in the midst of the COVID pandemic, we felt this was a great way to celebrate his life.

Rick was a great friend. He helped me with several corvette projects. When he found a 1957 racing corvette, he proudly announced that it was an RPO579E air box car. I found drawings of the wood mold used to hand layup the 43 original air boxes in the Harrison Radiator archives and made a copy for Rick just in case he had to make one for his car. James L Klino

Daddy, this is so hard. The only bearable part of this is that you are free from your earthly pain and struggles. I hope you knew how extraordinarily proud I was to be your daughter. I know things were not always perfect, but I also know how much you loved me in your way. You will always be my hero. Rest in peace, daddy-o.
