Reverend Jack Kidwell, of Cincinnati, OH passed on Friday, July 22, 2022, aged 77 at Mercy Hospital in Anderson. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (nee Busch), survived in death by his children Joe (Lori) Kidwell, Lauren Thompson, and grandson, Zachary Thompson. Jack was born and raised in Stinking Creek, Tennessee. He graduated from Wynn High School in Habersham, Tennessee in 1963. After graduation he moved to Cincinnati and worked in facility maintenance for Tri-County Mall with his brother-in-law George Pyle. He was drafted into the United States Army and served 1965-67 in Military Police units in South Korea and Ft. Bliss, Texas. After military service he worked at Bedinghaus Business Forms in Sharonville, Ohio from 1968-1980. Jack was a beloved member of Monuments Baptist Church in Bethel, Ohio. He became a Christian in 1975 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Cincinnati, where he was a deacon until called to preach. He pastored churches in the greater-Cincinnati area and preached several revivals across the midwest and the south for 40 years. He pastored his first congregation at Hamersville Baptist in Hamersville, Ohio from 1977-79. He went to Liberty Baptist in Norwood, Ohio from 1979-91, where under his leadership the church grew into one of the largest and most active in the community at the time. Brother Jack was called to pastor Heartland Baptist in Mason, Ohio in 1995. In 2006, Heartland merged with Faith Baptist Church becoming Faith-Heartland Baptist with Jack as the pastor until he retired in 2020. Jack also formed a general contractor partnership with Larry Burdette, operating as Burdette-Kidwell throughout the 1990's and early 2000's. They provided commercial and residential construction and maintenance services to hundreds of customers in the Tri-State area during that time. Brother Jack was a guiding strength in the lives of so many people. His unwavering love of God and church, devotion to his family, and the support and love he gave to people will be remembered forever by everyone blessed to have been a part of his life. "Remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction." - 1 Thessalonians 1:3-5

I'm late to acknowledge Jack's passing but felt the strong urge to share. Brother Jack was one of the central figures of my formative years, and I knew Linda as a Sunday school teacher and Joe as a friend. Jack never hesitated or wavered in his call to help others, and he was a father figure and mentor for me in a time it was needed most. Just one of probably thousands of lives Jack touched along his journey, and wanted his loved ones to know that he is remembered fondly. I love you Brother Jack.

How do you condense 40 years of memories into a few paragraphs? Bro. Jack has been a spiritual advisor, mentor, friend, Pastor, brother, and 2nd Daddy to me over all these years. From Pastoring Liberty Baptist Church where our group, the Travelaires, sang many times in some amazing services, to him being a spiritual advisor to the Travelaires, to him being our Pastor at Heartland Baptist Church, to him working with my Mom and Dad after their retirement, to him visiting in our home in his last years. What a man of God we were honored and privileged to have in our lives! The many years Bro. Jack loved and took care of Linda were such an inspiration. And I can't even imagine the many miles he put on his cars, visiting and praying with folks all over. He preached the home-going services for my sweet brother and my Dad, giving words of comfort I'll never forget. And I know of many others he walked through valleys with, giving them the hope of Jesus. I cannot ever say in words all I feel about this man, a great blessing in our lives. God allowed me to be present when he took his last breath here, and I will always consider it a beautiful time of singing him home. Can't wait to get to Heaven to see the glorious time he's now having there. I love you, Bro. Jack. Thank you for giving to the Lord! I am a life that was changed. ❤️🎶❤️

Dad cheering Mom up during recovery after our kidney transplant (August 2005), a very difficult time right after transplant when we didn't think the kidney would make it and she had to go in for second surgery to save it. He was there most of the time lifting up our spirits.
