I remember my time working with Ray so fondly. He was the technician at my first 'real' job out of college. He was brilliant at his job but also kind, gentle and always positive ... even when I destroyed his fine tipped tweezers ... multiple times. I loved hanging out in the lab with him listening to Terri Gross, hearing stories about the way the valley used to be or his windsurfing escapades. I was young, unexperienced and naive at the time but Ray never made me feel that way. So many good memories. Ray will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sorry to see you go, Ray. The world will be a little less interesting and joyful without you. I remember Ray teaching me the *right* way to solder, which I've passed on to my kids. And I was kind-of shocked when I found him washing circuit boards in the kitchen sink one morning at work. Since there is more ice cream for the rest of us now, it's time to go get some and celebrate the light you brought to everyone's lives around you.

Ray was a classmate at Homestead High School class of 68. I remember the laughs and kindness he brought to others at school.

Ray was always a breath of fresh air. When I would come to him with some equipment problem he would lend a hand, solve the problem, and did it with a big smile on his face. What a joy to work with him. And could he eat, never gaining weight, and always bristling with positive energy. I will miss you.

Ray was one of the kindest, gentlest, people that I've ever met. He taught me how to solder... I guess that would make him patient as well.

Ray always brought a smile and a chuckle to my work days at Ventritex and Neuropace. I truly appreciated his joy in life. I will honor him with a homemade ice cream sandwich!
