Randy Blake Friedman
December 20th, 1958 - October 29th, 2021
December 20th, 1958 - October 29th, 2021
Beloved husband, daddy, pa, son, brother, cousin, and friend.-A true family man.
On Friday, October 29th, 2021, Randy Friedman, a loving husband, father, and pa, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away abruptly, at the age of 62.
Randy was born in Rochester, NY to a loving mother, Jo Friedman. He grew up in the suburbs of Rochester and spent a lot of his time with cousins. He loved music and sports. You could find him playing football or performing in the school musical like, "Bye, Bye, Birdie" as Conrad Birdie. He grew up appreciating the beauty of performing arts and the skills of aggressive sports. Randy grew up with two older brothers, Robbie and Daryl, and one older sister, Joy. He has countless cousins and friends who he considered his brothers; Nino, Steve, Lonne, Gary, and beyond.
By the time Randy was 16 he began his life (somewhat on his own) by building and refining his entrepreneurship skills. He found that his determination and relentless personality to "never give up" would be his greatest success. Randy found his way into working in a bridal store, owned by the Riso's; a family that would take him under their wing and show him how to succeed in the bridal industry. Randy began to sell wedding gowns and prom attire by Lizzette across multiple states. After many years of working in the industry, Randy saw many bridal markets and, in his true-to-self character, thought to himself, "well, I can do this better." And he did.
In 1984, Randy met his beautiful wife, Patricia Ann Troyer, at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, on New Year's Eve while Randy was visiting his cousin Steve and his band. Pat saw a cute guy, standing on the second step from the stage, and whistled to him to come and dance with her, and the rest is history. Randy assumed fatherhood to his daughters Amanda and Dawn, and then had two more daughters; Tamara and Ashley. Later in life, Pat and he became guardians of their first two grandchildren; Cody and Travis when they were both small children.
Randy and Pat worked as a team to bring a bridal-based convention to Las Vegas, The Market to fruition. Pat has skills and connections in the convention center, and Randy could make lasting relationships with anyone he met. For 15 years, they worked together and made a living for their family. His charisma and magnetic personality made him a natural salesman and business owner. This allowed him to do what was most important to him which was to provide for his family. He was so proud of all his children and grandchildren and the incredible people they had become thanks to the example he set.
Randy was a family man and he loved taking his kids to Disneyland and camping in the Redwoods. Any time spent with his family was his most cherished time.
Randy has 13 grandchildren, who he loved more than words can say. Grandchildren in order from oldest to youngest; Cody Friedman (23), Travis Friedman (22), Katelyn Jo (20), Joseph Blake (14), Eli (12), Joshua (8), Jude (8), Zoe (8), Waylon Lewis Blake (5), Caleb (5), Jovan (5), Blake (3), Jazzmin Randy Jo (17 months). To all his grandchild, he was their "Pa," and was truly one of a kind. His undeniable love for his grandchildren was evident to anyone near him. He has 4 sons-in-law; Dominic spouse of Amanda, Ryan (M.) spouse of Dawn, Justin spouse of Tamara, and Ryan (G.) spouse of Ashley, whom he loved dearly.
Randy's favorite pastime was entertaining and cooking for his family and friends. He opened his home to anyone who would come, and he would feed them until they were full. Randy was an avid music fan and raised his daughters in such a way. The Beatles were always played, and he knew every single lyric and would sing it proudly. Sundays were meant for church and football, and the second he hit his favorite chair after church he wouldn't get up unless he had to pee. He loved the Raiders and was ecstatic at their new home in Vegas. He was an avid hockey fan and was the Golden Knights' biggest supporter.
He had a passion for cooking, music, and sports but his greatest love was for his family and friends. To say that Randy was someone you can always count on is an understatement; he was so much more. Randy went above and beyond for his family and his friends. Any person that he met would share this sentiment. He never said no to his daughters and spoiled his grandchildren. Randy gave jobs to those who needed them and gave his trust, without hesitation. Randy always took on the weight of others' hardships and emotions; he cared about the needs of others. His heart was big and he let the world see it. He was a man who took great pride in his family and always put them first.
Randy was the kind of man who made his friends his family. He lit up any room he walked into and had the most infectious laugh. He was a Godly man, and always pointed his family to walk in the way of the Lord.
The song he sang to every single one of his daughters...
-I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck, a hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap, a barrel and a heap and I'm talkin' in my sleep
About you, about you, 'Cause I love you, a bushel and a peck, You bet your purdy neck, I do, A doodle oodle, ooh doo, A doodle oodle, oodle, ooh doo
An irreplaceable man.

I was friends with Randy back in 1975-76 when 16 and 17 yrs old. I remember how he smiled when he talked and his raspy voice. He was passionate about life and people and I have many fond memories. I was sorry to hear of his passing and extend my condolences to his family.

My Dad, what can I say. I don't feel I have the words... This is not easy, My dad didn't have to care for me, he didn't have to teach me, he didn't even have to love me, but he did all of those. When my dad married my mom he opened his arms and world up to two young girls and loved them as his own. We have been so blessed. I made my dad work really hard for my love too, and he never gave in or walked away from me. He formed me into the woman I am today and I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you daddy for everything. I love you and allready miss you so much. Till we meet again
