Randolph Alfred Arronson, son of Alfred and Leona (Grimm) Arronson, was born in Portland, OR on September 6th, 1942, and died on September 27th, 2020, at the age of 78. Randy was baptized in Portland, OR at Trinity Lutheran Church on October 25th, 1942 and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Portland, OR, on May 20th, 1955 and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Portland, OR at the time of death. Randy was united in marriage to Karen Breece on April 21st, 1984 at Ascension Lutheran Church. Two children were born to their union; Hilary and Lukas. He was previously blessed with his eldest children Traci and Michael. Randy served his Lord through his congregation at Ascension during his years as an usher, elder, youth board member and worker, choir member and general caretaker, happy to help in any way given the opportunity. Born with the gift of gab, Randy was the epitome of a people person who made friends wherever he went. After proudly graduating as a Roughrider from Roosevelt High School in 1960 he attended Portland State College. He went on to serve 5.5 years in the Oregon Army National Guard and worked for 48 years at the United States Postal Service, where he met his beloved wife, Karen. One of Randy's favorite things to do was spend time with family and friends. He loved a good party, especially if it included cake. In his spare time he enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins, and John Wayne movies. An avid bowler for 51 years, he competed in the National Bowling Championships, as well as in various leagues and tournaments with his two sons. He loved to travel, especially for bowling events. Some of his favorite places to vacation were Lincoln City, OR, Grants Pass, OR and Disneyland, where he would visit many times after his parents first took him in 1956. For a decade he was an adored "band dad" for the Centennial High School Marching Band in its heyday. He spent many hours supporting the band at field shows, parades and games, always eager to help however he could. Above all, he was a devoted believer in Christ who was passionate about his service to the Lord and cherished his church family and singing in the choir. Preceding him in death are his dear parents, Alfred and Leona. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen; children, Traci (Bryan), Michael (Mindy), Hilary (Rich), and Lukas; 8 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; sister Diane (Harry); many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who will always remember him for the joy and love he shared with the world.

Randy was full of energy, I wish I had. I remember being at Randy and Karen's wedding reception, it was fun. I also remember that he March along with the Centennial HS band. My last few years working at the PO he always tracked me down to sell Christmas wreath for fundraiser. I was honored to attend his daughter's beautiful wedding. I also felt special to attend his 75th Birthday celebration at the bowling alley. I pray for strength for his family, and all the best in there lives.
