When tomorrow starts without me, And I’m not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes, All filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, The way you did today, While thinking of the many things, We didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, As much as I love you, And each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand, And said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. So when tomorrow starts without me, Don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here, in your heart.

Ralph Delanoix, born September 6, 1950 to parents Joe and Norine, peacefully departed this world on Sunday, February 25, 2024, having spent his final few weeks in the loving care of his wife Sharon, daughters Rachel and Catherine, son-in-law Cresendo, granddaughter River, sister Jimmie Delanoix, sister-in-law Deborah Ford, and lifelong Best Friend Ben Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie and sister Lorine. He will be fondly remembered by brothers-in-law Patrick Anderson, Mike Ford and Michael Shaver, sister-in-law Debra Manning, lifelong friend Christian Cunningham, many nieces and nephews, and countless others who loved him and called him “Dad.” If you knew Ralph, you undoubtedly heard his ubiquitous Hallelujahs, or maybe bickered with him over the dinner check, testaments to both his unwavering faith and his generosity. A dedicated worker throughout his life, those who worked with Ralph can attest to his high standards and his mentorship. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ralph was a good scratch golfer, a skilled bowler, and a great pool shooter. His competitive spirit was balanced by his joy in learning any new game. Ralph celebrated 50 loving years with his beautiful bride, Sharon. He was a proud and loving father, but he learned true joy when he became PawPaw to his precious granddaughter River. She was the light of his life and in his final years, every shirt he wore proudly displayed his favorite name: PawPaw. In honoring Ralph Delanoix, we celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in the eternal peace he so richly deserved. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the teams at MD Anderson who provided exceptional care in Ralph’s last months. A special thank you to Dr. Kaseb and the Hospital Medicine team as well as the staff on G20 and P4A who treated us all like family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ralph’s name to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Alternatively, financial contributions can be made directly to the family to support his celebration and final arrangements. Ralph will be remembered in a small gathering of his friends and family and per his wishes, his ashes will be scattered from Lookout Mountain.
